Well you dont need your PCP to go see the WLS surgeron, but you do need one that can follow you post op. Is your doc the only one in the office our can you see someone else in clinic without having to transfer to a different PCP. Good luck.

Help!!! My Doctor thinks that WLS is a bunch of bologna!!! What is the best way to get this procedure done. Do I change Dr's (PCP)? or do I go directly to the WLS Doctor. Any one else have this happen to them!!! Anyone deal with BCBS/TN? Thanks!! And Bless the people affected by Katrina!!!

Hi, I'm getting ready to see a Dr about WLS and I have BCBS TN, any help with getting the insurance to approve would be a great help. Is it easier for me to go thru my PCP or go directly to a WLSurgeon? I'm in NM, but my insurance is TN. HELP!!!! Thanks a lot and God Bless.

Dear Friends
I wanted to let you know that I have reached my weight loss goal as of 8/29/05 when I went to my support meeting. I now weigh 165 lbs which is a total loss of 383 lbs. I would like to thank each of you for all of your prayers and words of encouragement. I could never have done this with out the help of friends and family and prayers. I thank God everyday for my surgery and my surgeon Dr. Eric Bour and his wonderful and caring staff. A very BIG thank you goes to my wonderful wife Alice who has been through as much as I have these last 16 months. I am hoping that I will be able to have some excess skin removed the first of next year. Please keep me in your prayers as I move to this next adventure and continue to work everyday to keep my weight off. Please check out my profile. I have added new pictures. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone you would like to.

Well everthing was going great for me up until now....My mom just told me that we would be changing insurances as of Oct 1st. How great is that...We just have gotten are letter of approval and i was greating ready to see the Surgeon so we could take the next step...But now we have to start all over...I dont think i can handle this upset...It seems like my surgery date will never come...not if my dads company keeps changing insurances and the sad thing is that my dad and the owner are good friends and the owner knows that i was planning to have my surgery sometime before the end of the year...They can't keep doing this...i dont think my parents could pay another deductible...you would think they would wait till the jan 1st to changes insurances not everyone has that kind of money like they do and on top of that BC BS is saying that they will not cover me since i am not a full time student...i wasn't before with Starmark so i don't know what the difference is now...well i just hope that all for this well be taken care of soon and i can get back on track.
Topic: RE: Need help finding a PCP through Pres that is pro WLS
Melanie,
I and many others have had great success with Pres and with the dr approved in network. I know others haven't but I've been through the surgery and even with complications, would do it again in a hearbeat!
My PCP is Eisberg, and he is has been really good and supportive.
Good luck, please ask any questions that you may have......

Hello
unfortunetly I am a lovelace employee and cannot give you any advice as to whom might be good with pres, however I can say that you should definatly switch providers... I do have a good friend who works there, and I'll see if he as any advice.. in the mean time, just try other doctors...
