Topic: Dr. Freeza?????
Hello,
Has anyone heard from Dr. Freeza's office in Lubbock about re-scheduling surgeries?
Last I heard he was still doing some physical surgery but I really need a date, I was originally supposed to be in Lubbock today for pre-op and surgery on Monday the 10th. I am so sad,
I waited for this day for 6months and now it is hear and will soon be gone.
But I just have to understand that it is not on my time but on God's time. Let me know if anyone has heard anything.
Thank you all,
-Jule

Topic: Regarding Dr. Blackstones Support Group meeting in Albuquerque
I e-mailed Dr. Blackstone's office to see if I could see what time the support group was meeting at the hotel on Friday, and just got a reply from Carol Cognata. I'll paste it here.
>>Hello Mary: So sorry for the confusion regarding the upcoming trip to Albuquerque. The free educational seminar is on the 8th at 10:00 a.m. at Old Town Sheraton. The support group that is meeting on the 7th is for Scottsdale Bariatric Patients only. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at 480-391-3885.

It looks like those of us locals that were planning on attending won't be allowed to. Any thoughts on whether we should try to go anyways? I don't know about anyone else but I will be very disappointed if we can't. It would be a great source of information for us.

Topic: RE: new choice for NM
Hello Am,
I just called the Del Sol center and got the names of the surgeons, they are Jorge Acosta, M.D. and Michael D. Lara, M.D. I asked what the process would be if I decided to change surgeons at this time being that Dr. Freeza is not available at the moment and she said that I should be able to change because i have lovelace HMO and they are contracted through lovelace. I would need to request all my tests from Dr. Freeza and trasfer them to Del Sol Bariatric Center and then go for a consult and they do not have a long waiting period she said they would submitt the paper work to lovelace and get an approval in about 2 days and then schedule me in. But I would have to attend the conference in Alb. on Oct. 29th at the Hilton. So pretty neat, she was very friendly.

Topic: RE: DEL SOL BARIATRIC CENTER-SEMINAR
Thanks for the heads up! I called and they won't even consult if you've had work done by another surgeon--I'm kind of on the hunt for a just in case second opinion
This will be a great option for a lot of people!

Thanks especially to those of you who have shared such great comments about the magazine as part of the ongoing "Plan C" contest (www.oh-magazine.com/contest.php)... here are a few of the amazing comments:
"This magazine saved my life. Had I not found it I would never have had the courage to find a surgeon in my area and make a consultation. I am a year and a half post-op. I have lost 158 lbs. I feel terrific, and OH
helped me."
