Ok, I had my surgery on 10/31. Keep in mind I am only 20 years old and have never had a big surgery before. I am HIGHLY senesative to any kind of anestesia or medications. I thought I was going crazy in the hopsital the day after surgery and no one told me about having all that gas in your chest and while i was sleeping all the sudden it felt like my heart was having a heart attack and my heart rate went up to 165. I woke up and freaked out so the doctor had to come down. When I was leaving the hospital the doctor was (kinda) rude about the whole thing telling me that I was crying wolf..... well im sorry if im very young and have never felt like that in my life. Anyway, the doctors office pre op never told me anything about what I was going to feel like after surgery, the tightness, the gas, the ANYTHING..... my impression was that I would be fine within a couple days... the nurse told me.... Oh no biggy we have patience that shop the next day after being banded. SO THAT IS WHAT I WAS EXPECTING!! Well, two weeks out and I feel LIKE SH*T. I will admit I called the office too many times and called the oncall doctor because I was so scarred that I something was wrong because I was that far out and still feeling absolutely HORRIBLE and Euphoric.... i felt like I was on Shrooms or something crazy. Anyway..... now 6 weeks later FINALLY I get to talk to my surgeon for the first time after surgery and he is so rude and tells me about the boy who cried wolf and that I am famous at the hospital in TX ( I am in NEW MEXICO) and that everyone knows me. I was like WHAT>? I have talked to 2 different doctors and one nurse AND NEVER ONCE DID MY SURGEON CALL TO TELL ME I WAS OK OR ANYTHING SINCE SURGERY...... to me that is stupid. ANYWAY, WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO SAY TO THAT?? I AM SUPPOSE TO GO TO TEXAS NEXT WEEK FOR MY FIRST VISIT POST AND I AM EMBARRASSED AND SO PISSED OFF. What do I do? I feel like noone understands at all..... Legan

The past few months I've been emailing back and forth with a lady who's brother didn't do to well with surgery. As in Jeremy's case he's had some rather severe complications. He had surgery on July 19th and has not been home since. He's currently in a nursing home trying to get rehab to walk again. So far he's lost 120 pounds, but he's still unable to take care of his self and is bed ridden. They don't have any phones in his room so mail is all he's got to look forward to. Please if you can take a moment to send Ken some well wishes, his family would be so grateful. Just a little note or card that we are all thinking about him. Let's show some OH love! :love: :kiss:

Four hours before I headed to the airport for Lubbock, Leslie called and cancelled my surgery for December 12. It is tentatively rescheduled for January 9, 2006. I had a premonition 30 minutes before the phone call the doctor's office was going to call. While I was "undoing" plane and hotel reservations a few hours later, something I have never experienced before took place. I was standing in my office and felt my beloved grandmother move through my body from back to front. There was a soft gentle breeze as it occurred. I began to think of her immediately and had the notion she was sitting on my shoulder. I could ask for no better guardian angel than her. Things happen for a reason. Jacqueline
