April 5th I will be meeting my angel in person for the first time!
I am so excited to meet Nettie and her husband Al.
Nettie was my husband Rudys lifeline while I was so ill and spent months in the hospital.
We are meeting in Las Vegas....what fun we are going to have getting to know each other!!! We are both crazy girls so I know it will be a vacation to remember!
Does anyone else have an angel they have never met in person? But who has supported them like they were just next door?
Lets show our appreciation for our Angels.....I declare today "Angel appreciation day!!! call,e-mail or write your Angel today....let them know they are loved!

Topic: Weight Loss Tracking Form
Hello Everyone,
I found a weight loss sheet online that I modified and made very useful. It tracks your weight loss and also shows you a graph and you can even print yourself a Certificate to Congratulate yourself on your weight loss.
It is in Microsoft Excel and is very easy to use. If you would like a copy please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will e-mail you a copy.

ok here's the scoop: Dr Acosta is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the hospital was good, very obesity sensitive, there was a big recliner in my room. i highlyrecommend them

I sure hope you can get a support group started in Alamogordo...
I would also sure like to see the NM board be a bit more active.....its amost like a 'ghost board'...
I got some great recipes I can share with you...most are with beans...and I can share them at work or with my family...and no one feels like they are eating 'diet food'...

Topic: Southern NM needs support!
Hey everybody,
I had surgery November 14th & 15th 2005. I have moved to Alamogordo, NM and I can not find a support group. Is there one down here?? Do we need to start one? I would appreciate it if anyone is interested please email me and let me know. I know this message board is great but....... sometimes face to face contact is really great too. I would really be grateful if any body has any information. Thanks much!!!--Val Cline
Topic: FIGHT MEDICARE'S RULING ABOUT HOSPITALS!!
According to the news and the PA at the surgeon's office where I *had* an appointment for next week, on February 21st the announcement was made that "Medicare would cover some procedures only at hospitals considered "centers for excellence" by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery." Hospitals were given no time to apply for certification from either organization.
We ALL need to contact our federal congressmen and senators about this. The more he11 we raise, the more likely it is the rule will be reversed or revised. Here are some things to point out in your communication (preferably by phone):
1. There was no notice given for this ruling. Hospitals should have had time to apply for certification.
2. Obesity is a life-threatening disease and this ruling has dramatically reduced the facilities available to perform bariatric surgery for months to come.
3. Waivers ARE available and you should urge your politicians to push for a waiver for your particular hospital.
