For all of the Men out on the Obesity Help Boards
But I just wanted to drop by an Invitation.
It's great to see other men out here.
We make up such a small percentage (12%)
Of the people having Weight Loss Surgery,
But tend to reach our goal weights quicker and with less
Or at least Different hassles than the Gals
Due to Male physiology.
Drop by the Men's Message Board
And check out what other men like you are going through.
It's a diverse make up of Dads, Singles, Older, younger, etc...
Pre-Ops, Post-Ops new and some Old (at Goal) Post-Ops.
Lap-Banders, RNY'ers DS, etc...
Great bunch of guys with the mutual understanding
That WLS for Men can be a totally different Journey.

Topic: Incase you haven't h...
Incase you haven't heard our site will soon be changing over to something totally new. Just in the past day our main message board has been totally changed on the beta site. Check it out here:
http://beta.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/
Some features in the new boards include: the ability to edit your own posts, delete a post, have signature lines, and font selections.
The site is operational and can be used to post on and search through. We are still working on more things to be added. Keep in mind the site is not 100% complete, which means we are still adding and changing things. This rollout focuses around implementing a new navigation, customizable homepage, bookmarks and a few other neat items that we know you will enjoy; however, our job is not complete. We are also in the process of adding more requested features to the site including: a new profile system, blogs, photo albums, private messaging, and much, much more. Stay tuned for more updates on these specific items.
Check out the BETA site here:
http://beta.obesityhelp.com
We are anticipating the full launch of the site sometime this week, so one day you will come to the site and it's going to be totally different, so make sure you check out the beta site and familiarize yourself with it now
Moving forward to better things!

Topic: RE: NERVOUS
Stacey,
Girl I've been there. Try sugar free popcicles. They're not too sweet and they will keep you from getting dehydrated. I had my surgery 14 November and I still have issues with some foods. I eat alot of soup. One thing I have noticed is that your tastes do change after surgery. So you just have to experiment but be careful you don't want to be throwing up right now. Good luck. Keep us posted.-Val
Topic: RE: I'M APPROVED! NOW WHAT?
Actually I am going to Clovis because Dr. Frezza is removing my gall bladder on Monday 4/24. That's a little too far for a meeting. I am not surprised about Dr. Frezza not doing RNY's there have been some complications. But hopefully there will be someone at the meeting that has had this done. The meeting is scheduled for 6pm I believe. (last I heard) I will let you know if I hear that it changes. See you there!-Val
Topic: RE: I'M APPROVED! NOW WHAT?
Valerie,
Thank you for the information! So, you come to the Java Loft when you still live in Alamogordo? Dr Frezza isn't doing RNY these days because of all the complications associated with it and his travel schedule. I'm hoping to meet someone that's had his new procedure that involves a lap band and removal of about half of the stomach. I hope to meet you Saturday. Congrats on the weight loss! Kym
