....where are you? Where has everyone gone? Did the winds of New Mexico blow us all away? Ohhhhh, I miss the post, please come back..... You know that one lone shoe that you sometimes see along the side of the road? Well, I'm feeling a bit like that shoe... I come here daily in hopes of finding another shoe, but, nope, no other shoes to be found. Okay, I admit, it's early and that's the best metaphor I can come up with this morning! It will only get worse if someone doesn't post something soon! haha

Topic: Support Groups near Alamogordo?
Hey all ;o)
I had a lap band "installed" back in May of 2009, had to have it removed on an emergency basis. Long story short, the pervious surgeon messed up. New surgeon performed a RNY and I'm exercising, watching my water/protein intake and fighting to remember my vitamins. I'm down 31 pounds since March 4th.
I know Dr. Clapp has a support group that meets in El Paso, Texas, but is there one closer? I can't do the four hour block of time for the El Paso trip lol.

That was quick!
Let's see. The Roadside Lemonade was ok (not bad). I think I would have to doctor that one up with some Crystal Lite or something. I really did not like the Apple one. It was weird - kind of like sour green apples (I could not get over the smell!). The Pink Grapefruit is really good. Of course I like the Fuzzy Navel and Cappucino - they are my favs. I haven't tried the Ice Tea yet - I'll do that one next week sometime.
Have you found anything that you really like yet?
And how are you doing? Will you be at the meeting next Wednesday? Remember we are having a protein exchange. :o)

The church is located on San Antonio just west of Louisiana at 6901 San Antionio NE. We will be in the building that is most to the north. You will see signs. We will be having a protein exchange at the next meeting - please come! :o)

CC, so glad to hear you're doing better. I've been to two of the support group meetings and I had a different surgeon than most of the people there. I'm so glad I found the group and look forward to the next meeting. I'm two years out and still need to be reminded about the difference between head hunger and stomach hunger. I see that I've fallen into some old habits of feeding something I'm "feeling" and not true hunger. If you do go to the meeting, please be sure to introduce yourself to me. I love to meet new people and we can compare notes on our weight loss experiences. Kelly

Sorry you had such a terrible time. I'm glad Dr. Syn was able to help you. I have heard nothing but good things about him.
If you're in Albuquerque, you should try to come to our support group meetings. Lots of Dr. Syn's patients there. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wed of each month at Grace Church at 6:30 p.m.

My goodness, you sure had the surgeon from hell, didn't you! I'm so glad things are better now and you are back on the weight loss road with no complications. Stay positive and keep us posted on how things are going for you.
