Hello, I am so sorry to hear about all your delays. I am in Las cruces and had my surgery in El Paso Tx at Del Sol. I was very surprised at how accondomating they are. They processed my paperwork very fast and I was able to have my surgery within two months after deciding. I am a teacher and was able to get my surgery schedule in time for Christmas break. I can not believe the wait you have had to endure, good luck to you Kelly

Topic: How things can change...
Hello again, How quickly things can change huh? Sunday I was happy in the fact that I was going to be a Daddy in September and post-op in June. Monday morning saw me and my wife in the ER because my wife had excessive bleeding. Of course my wife and I were not only scared, but convinced that we were loosing our child. My lack of faith was very apparent that day, because I was wrong. The pregnancy is actually fine, at risk a little, but otherwise fine. My wife was experiencing a subchorionic hematoma. We were told that most likely this will resolve and the pregnancy will go full term, but nothing is certain. Marcie is on a week's bed rest to give the hematoma time to heal a bit. Thank GOD! The Dr. gave us an 80% chance of resolution which is good, but that also means a 20%chance of miscarriage. We are optimistic and things do seem to be on the mend. My surgery has been rescheduled for June 8th and is still on track as far as I know. Richard Immell

Topic: Power Crunch Bars on Sale for March
this is the email I received from Tom who the power crunch bar represenative: Debra Flores 227/205/120 at goal 8/98 - 8/04 - today VBG/Revion Pasadena TX Support Group Leader I wondered if you would be kind enough to pass this info along to your constituents on the OH Message board. For the month of March the Vitamin Shoppe Stores will have a buy 1 get the second at 50% off sale on all 7 flavors of Power Crunch Bars. This brings them in at under $1 each. If you could put it on the national message board too it would be great. We have also expanded into Costco Stores in all of Northern California as well as most SoCal, AZ, New Mexico, Utah, CO, NV, and TX area stores. Their price also works out to $1 each. I'll continue to keep you posted on the "deals" if that is okay. I hope your meeting last month went well and people enjoyed the cookies. We appreciate all that you do to help us keep informed as to the wants and needs of the GBP market. Sincerely, Tom Williams

Topic: A new Date!!! And a New LIFE!!!
Boy what a strange couple of months I've had. Just a quick re-cap. First I was scheduled for surgery, then I was not scheduled for surgery... then I was scheduled for August, then October, then I was not on the schedule at all. While this was going on, my wife and I found out that we are pregnant with our first child. Well, yesterday we had an ultrasound done, and I saw my child for the first time. It seemed to wave at us and although it is way too early to tell what sex it is, we were happy to see that the baby is growing and that everything looks normal. My wife and I are hoping for a girl, but healthy will be just fine. It was very exciting! Today, I got a call from Dr. Blackstone's office to get me scheduled again. I once again have a date, and it is not in August or October. My new Surgery Date is June 8th. I am perfectly happy with this date. I would like it sooner, but it falls after the semester ends and is way before my wife is due. Score one for the Fat Kid... Please keep my wife and unborn child in your prayers. Richard I

Hi there! I am exactly 2 weeks out from the RNY WLS. Things are going well! My surgeon is in Denver, and I was wondering if anyone here could give me the names of some local gastroenterologists that they have been working with? Thanks so much! Rachel

hello ladies, I am from the Lubbock area as well Littlefield to be exact, I now live in Rio Rancho, NM I had lap-band surgery last February in Houston and have only lost 20 lbs, I have type 2 diabetes ,maybe that is the reason, my Doctors have no suggestions for me my band is at capacity and I feel almost no restrictions ,but continue to try but feel quite depressed most of the time I am disabled and unable to move around too much I have fallen twice lately, I was tempted to try to have the gastric bypass done by Dr Syn but need to talk to you Mary Ann and see how your results are if it works better than the lap-band for people with type 2 thanks for the help and good luck to you all Janet
