Hello Cindy.  I wish that I could tell you a definite time frame.  I can tell you that I am going through Del Sol with Dr. Lara.  His staff has been more than helpful, they are great.  I started the process in August of 2006 and my surgery is tomorrow.   Dr. Lara saw me right away and they started their end really quick.  What took so long was my insurance required a 6 month diet program and then my PCP would not do the tests for surgery clearance until after the insurance approved my surgery.  Once I was approved, about 2 weeks after my diet, my PCP ordered the x-ray, the stress test and all that.  They approved my quickly and then, since I am a teacher, I wanted to wait until summer.  They worked with me on everything.  -On another note, my neighbor had her surgery with Applebaum at Providence and she said they were great as well.  Her process went quicker but she self paid and did not have to schedule around work.  Hope this helps.

  Leti, So you have to drive all the way to El Paso to get your surgery?  Thats great that you are doing it. Let me know how things go for you. Dont give up. Talking with people really does help. You know I went to see my  primary care Dr.Actually she was a new Dr because my Dr moved out of state. Well any way I said to her  that I wanted to have surgery and she said great she supports this kind of surgery. She said to me let me show you something so she bought a picture of this lady who was very over weight just like me. She actually weighed  the same as i do now 250. Then the Dr said to me would you like to meet her because she was in the room next to me getting a check up. When I walked in I said oh my god you are beautiful. I could not believe it was the same lady. She lost 100. She was glowing. Dr said that she had a lot of health issues and they are slowly going.  She said that she has no regrets. Well any way she said it is a tool that helped her lose weight.    Well leti keep in touch girl.  It may take  some time but it will be worth it. .......Cindy

Hi  Leti, I  I decided to go with Dr Applebaum at Sierra Providence Barriatrics. He does surgery at Del Sol and At  Providence Hospital. I think that is name of it. I new to area in Nm and El Paso Tx. I had My seminar this morning. Their was like 20 persons there. I decided to go with this Dr because it looks like it takes longer through  Del Sol Barriatrics. I was told  by 2 women that had their  Surgeries  with Dr applebaum. I did my packet online. They called me the next day.They already called my Insurance to get it going. They told me how much I would pay for my part on this surgery.  On Monday morning I Go to Dr Office to get evaluated and weighed and they schedule you for  psyc test and nutrionist. So this is going pretty fast for me.  All this within a week .Leti where is hobbs, Nm?  Hope to hear from you again....... Cindy

Holy Cow!  Dr. Schlesinger's "Back in Phoenix" special is only $13,000.00  BUT....he said they just found out the new band was increasing in price in July.  Soooooo......if you want the "sweetest" price then call asap for an appointment.  He said they would be increasing $500 in July and that the opening special will run for a couple of months.
