Hi Rhonda,
I have Pres HMO and the only doctor they approved was Dr. Frezza in Lubbock. It is a long drive but he is a very good doctor.
Kelly Powers has put together a support group and we will have our first meeting this Wed. evening. I would love to see you there. We can talk alot about it there.
If you look at the post board. Kelly has posted about the meeting. Get with her about the details or give me a buzz and I'll give you the info.

i have bcbs through state of nm and had no problem getting approved, as far as the doctor, i chose who i wanted because there are no surgeons in NM doing lap band and that was the procedure i chose

Chriss, I have the BCBS with State of New Mexico. It seems to be a pretty good plan. It's the one the state employee's get (the PPO). Let me know if you need anything else!

Sorry this is so late, I just now found this part of the sight. I also have the same insurance. I got an approval after 5 days. You have to be at least 100% over your ideal body weight. Note, that it's 100% not pounds. That's with NO health problems. If you have health problems (diabetes, blood pressure, etc) I don't think it's that high. Hope this helps!

Hey everyone, I have a 10, 7 and 1 year old. My biggest problem has been finding family friendly recipes and snack ideas.
