Hi, Kelly. I just found the NM site of OH this evening. I am so thrilled to hear there is a support group in my home town, Las Cruces. I would have loved to join you all Monday, Jan. 7 for the meeting, but that is my RNY surgery day! LOL! So, I will be in EL Paso in the hospital. Any positive thoughts or chi sent my way would be appreciated.

Hello kelly,
I am from albuq and had my RYN on dec 4th i had mine done in el paso by DR APPLEBAUM
he was the best i bouced back really fast and had no trouble. i am a month out jan 7th i go in and he weighs me for the first time. and gives more food to my diet. I havent been hungery at all and not alot of discomfort. only needed pain meds for 2 days and that was it the pain was not really there soar but no pain. well i wish you all the luck !!! i am really happy i did it....:P

Thank you for the info on the group. My surgery is scheduled in Houston, TX on Dec. 26th, yes, just 4 days from today. We fly out on Christmas Day. I've been on a liquids only diet for about 2 weeks now, guess they want the liver to be in great shape before surgery. I'll be in TX for two weeks, as they want out-of-towners to be close by in case of complications. I have complete confidence in Dr. Davis and have done so much research on him and the procedure itself. I'm just not too good with anesthesia. Thanks again for the info. Kelly

I am from ABQ and belong to the group outlined below. I don't know anything about Dr Davis. If I can be of any help let me know I am about 2.5 yrs out. Please give teh group a try. The group can only be what people bring to it....it is a grassroots grop as there are no surgeons group here - Dr Blackstone does pay someon to run a monthly grou pfor her patients (nice benefit) but that is not available to most of us. I have made some friend in the group.
