Del Sol hospital in El Paso now has a bariatric program in place, it is a "milti-disiplinary" program, included in the program is a six month membership to a gym in town, the program is new and yet is approved by NM medicaid ( not TX medicaid go figure)i just wanted to share this ith you

When you say approved by NM medicaid, is it Pres? and I wonder if HMO/PPO Pres is accepting it? Very interesting info, thank you for posting it! Do you know the name of the surgeons, perhaps? Thanks again! AnnMarie

Thank you! I was on the phone with Pres yesterday and they couldn't find anyone but they did say if I got a name, the search would be a lot easier. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the El Paso program, it would be a great option for some and a wonderful opportunity for a just in case alternative! Thanks again! AnnMarie

I emailed the center right after we emailed, still no response and I ran the surgeon's names thru Pres and I couldn't find them....any news? thanks! am

Hello Am, I just called the Del Sol center and got the names of the surgeons, they are Jorge Acosta, M.D. and Michael D. Lara, M.D. I asked what the process would be if I decided to change surgeons at this time being that Dr. Freeza is not available at the moment and she said that I should be able to change because i have lovelace HMO and they are contracted through lovelace. I would need to request all my tests from Dr. Freeza and trasfer them to Del Sol Bariatric Center and then go for a consult and they do not have a long waiting period she said they would submitt the paper work to lovelace and get an approval in about 2 days and then schedule me in. But I would have to attend the conference in Alb. on Oct. 29th at the Hilton. So pretty neat, she was very friendly. Julie
