I have no idea how to get started on this journey. I currently do not even have a PCP, so I know I need to establish, but how exactly do you get started doing this. From what I have read, you have to go on a supervised diet, which I have done in the past and am certainly open to trying again. But are most PCP's amenable to this kind of thing and what kind of Dr. you need a referral for? I am just at a loss as to how to start this. Also if anyone has the name of a good PCP, I would appreciate any recommendation that will take Pres insurance. Thanks, Melanie

Get on the ABQNBB website below and post your questions, lots of ABq people on board... Albuquerque New Body Beginnings (ABQNBB) WLS Support Group: We welcome everyone to meet to discuss the new and changing issues we face with WLS. Meetings are held at Presbyterian Medical Group building, 5901 Harper Drive NE. We have been provided with a nice size meeting room in the Cafeteria on the basement floor. To get to the meeting place go in the front doors and go past the Urgent care and take the elevator to the ground floor and upon exiting the elevator follow the signs to the cafeteria. 1st and 3rd Wednesday @ 6:30 PM, Next time we meet will be the 16th of March. Did you find a Pres PCP yet? I use Thomas Gross and he has been very helpful in getting me approved for WLS. My surgery is 3/28/05. Good luck, Heidi
