Since UNM won't be doing the surgery anymore, where should I go people? Should I wait for Dr. Igwe to get his thing going? I tried to call a bariatric clinic in Lubbock, but they don't accept medicaid. Anyone know of a place that accepts Presbyterian Salud? I'm kind of in the dumps about this.

Who did you call in Lubbock? I am seeing Dr. Syn, I'm not sure what insurance he accepts. There is a Dr. Hall, and a Dr. Frezza, also in Lubbock. The Wish Center emailed me with info, and they now take different insurances that they didn't when I began looking around. Dr. Igwe is still a good choice.........I am still on his list,,,because I'm still waiting on my Insurance appeal.

I emailed Dr. Hall. They replied with "I'm sorry we don't accept your insurance, good luck with your search." I too am on Dr. Igwe's list. I also emailed Dr. Frezza, no response yet.

You can try Dr Blackstone in Scottsdale. I know Presbyterian has an in network Dr in Lubbock TX, his name is Dr Frezza. I am continuing to fight to have Dr Blackstone in AZ.

Dr. Syn recently got a contract with Pres, so maybe that's the doctor who's "in network." I am going to see if I can go through with Dr. Syn.

Renee, I just spoke with Pres at Member services and Dr Syn is not a contracted Dr. I hope I didn't burst you bubble...I wanted to know for myself....talk to you later.

Hello, I was in the same predicament 1 month ago when UNM called to tell me that I was no longer on there list for surgery after being on the "list" for over 2 & 1/2 years!! I went to Barix Clinics in Scottsdale, AZ tele# 480-538-2900 and they were so wonderful!! They have plans to do my surgery within 8 to 9 weeks after my initial consult. Compared to they way that the UNM staff and surgeon treated me it is like night and day. UNM was terrible!! We are all lucky that this happened!! http://www.barixclinics.com/?src=ADWBC The above is there web site. Please let me know if you have any questions I would be happy to answer what I can.
