Message from Donna Sue

Donna is the leader of the Albuquerque Support group and had sent this message through ABQNBB yahoo groups. Neets contacted me a couple of days ago to tell me and let us all know that Dr. Fry is going on sabaticle and that the other Dr's that were doing the surgery at UNMH have decided to not do the surgery any more... therefore the program at UNMH is suspended until further notice... even to those with already scheduled dates... She wanted to let us know this so that those that can go out of state start pushing for that course of action... if help is needed with their insurance companies she said that they(at the clinic) will write letters for the surgery candidates to give to their insurance companies to verify that Albuquerque and UNMH is no longer doing the surgery... this should help to get the Insurance companies to cover patients having to go out of state and out of network... Good luck all of you that this affects directly... We'll be pulling for you...

Has anybody heard about Dr, Igwe, will he be preforming wls surgeries in NM???

He is hoping to start sugeries in Las Vegas NM at the new hospital but no for at least 6 months. Still working out the liability and insurance issues at the new hospital. Said he already has 18 people on a waiting list so you may want to call his office soon to get on the list. He may not be in the phone book but if you call Dr James' office on Las Vegas, Dr Igwe is in the same office. Yvonne Cartee
