I'm going on the road trip tomorrow...
It's going to be a LONG drive. It has to be non-stop, because I have no $$ for a motel.
-Thursday after classes I leave to go to my Mom's place. 5 hours- 271 mi.
-Get to my Mom's rest a bit, then leave to my cousin's. 8.5 hours- 454 mi.
-Pick up my cousin, head to my Mom's. 8.5 hours- 454 mi.
-Get to my Mom's, rest a bit, head home. 5 hours- 271 mi.
All of this is to happen Thurs.-Sunday, on the way back, once I pick up my cousin and her little girl, she'll for sure help drive. I am trying to convince the old man to come with me, so I won't be burdened with the entire 13.5 hour drive, and 725 mi. there by myself. On the way there, I'm taking my daughter.
If anyone has suggestions, tips, etc. I would greatly appreciate it.
When I drive to Ohio...
- Books on tape (see post below on what I usually take with me)
- Cooler with water, caffine, turkey balogne (spelling), bread, mustard, ketchup, packed with ice.
- Plastic cups, I sometimes dont wish to always drink out of bottles
- napkins
- Papertowels
- snackies (ones for you and ones appropriate for your youngin)
- Pillows, blankets (just in case)
- screens for the windows where your daughter will sit so she doesn't get sunburned through the window.
- sunscreen (again sunburning still occurs in the car)
- Wet Ones for messes
- Kleenex (napkins hurt my nose)
- Music to throw in CD or Tapedeck, because of areas that you cant get reception. (I think books on tape you will want to listen too more than music)
- Make sure you have an oil change, a good spare tire and all tools, Make sure all fluids are taken care of in car and that all lights, turnsignals all work, flashlight, tire pressure gadge, battery cables.
- Take a gallon or two of water just in case for you or car.
- Camera to take those great pictures of landscapes and family.
Have a safe trip and if I forgot anything hope someone catches it.
God Bless
Debbie
