Hello,
I was wondering if anyone post op could answer a few questions for me.
I have my own business and work from home. I work over 60 hours per week. I was wondering how long does it take after surgery to feel good enough to do light activities? Like sitting in front of a computer and light lifting? I am a jewelry designer so my work is not very strenuous but it is important for me to be able to sit up for long periods of time.
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you all for all of the wonderful information and help throughout this process!!
Have a great day,
Lauri

Hi, I had my surgery on Dec. 1, 2003. I was able to sit for about 2 hours or so at a time. I just would get up and walk every hour or so because that was what my surgeon siad was to walk around the house until I went back to see him for staples to be removed. So it just really depends on you and how fit you are before the surgery and how well you heal. I was walking every chance that I had while in the hospital and at home. As for lifting, I couldn't lift anything over 10 pounds and there was no bending over to lift. I had to squat down to pick up things. Again, it just really depends on you. You know your our body better then anyone. Just go slow and easy and what you are comfortable with doing. You will be fine if you listen to your body and not over do. I was out Christmas shopping 2 1/2 weeks after surgery. Remember listen to your body.
