Did you all see the write up about Gastric Bypass in the Albuquerque Journal? It talked a lot about UNMH and the doctors there.

Coral, it was very discouraging, I believe they had an article a while back that was more on the positive side. I take that article for a grain of salt. But it does say to my insurance company that they need to get more options of Dr that we can use to have surgery. Take care.

Sure did and made me sooooooo glad I went out of state for the surgery. Never had considered UNM a viable choice. Dr. Fry is one lucky fellow if none of those people are suing him. I was particularly outraged by his leaving for Europe while one of his patients, who later died, was in critical condition. I also thought the UNM law school dean oversimplied the surgery to the max. I had lap rny at an out of state hospital by a doctor who has done more than a 1000 of them, has a complication rate but also has a staff there 24/7 of highly qualified, fully trained docs and RNs.
