Hi, Debbie, Sugar Alcohols are things like Sorbital, Xylitol and Maltitol that DO have carbohydrates in them. They are considered nutritive sweetners, just like sugar. I teach Diabetes Education, and this is a big scam that food processors are using to make us think that an item is "Sugar Free". It still will raise blood sugar, is a carbohydrate, and if you eat enough of it it causes gas, bloating and diarrhea. Splenda is about the best for someone who can't take Aspartame. Hope that helps! Thank you I will make sure I stay away from it or eat very little of it. I am not worried about carbs, but sugar. I am not a carb eater, but a sugar eater, I love anything sweet (except my tea). Thank you and God Bless Debbie
