Hello. My name is Kristi and I had Gastric Bypass surgery here in Phoenix about 16 months ago. I have lost 125 pounds and feel wonderful. We will be moving to Albuquerque at the end of April and I am wondering if anyone can help me with a few things. First, I would like to know if there are any support groups in the Albuquerque area. I attend meetings here in Phoenix twice a month and really believe they are so helpful. Second, I am now four months pregnant (it is a very good thing). I would like to know if anyone would know an OBGYN that might be familiar with WLS. Any help would be greatly apprciated. I look forward to hearing from anyone. Have a great day...Kristi

Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday's at 7:00 p.m. we meet at the UNM Hospital on the 2nd floor at the back of the dining facility. I also know someone from that group the has had WLS and has had a recent pregnancy. I will find out who it is and get you her information. Richard

I spent all afternoon trying to explain my surgery and my situation to twenty different OBGYN's in ABQ, and it seemed as though no one in NM even knew about WLS, so I appreciate any help you could give me. Have a great day....Kristi

Hi Kristi ! Welcome to New Mexico. There is a OBGYN in Albuquerque that is absolutely the greatest. His name is William Harrison and I believe his office is on Gold Ave. in Alb. He used to live here in Ruidoso. I bet you would love him. Try his number and see if he is still taking new patients. I know he stays pretty full. Hope you can see him. Again, welcome!!!
