no drinks with meals? are you psycho lady??

Don't know if you all run into this or not... but every time I have eaten out since my surgery, the wait staff seem to think I am nuts because I don't want anything to drink... not even water. They ask several times, and I get the "are you sure" and then they kinda look at me like I am strange. Anyone else encounter this... or am I strange. I forgo the water, because if it is sitting in front of me, I might without thinking take a drink. What do you all do?

Heya Christine! I have been wondering how you've been doing. Am glad you are doing good. I just did my online forms a few days ago, so I won't know anything for awhile. I finally got my replacement copy of BC/BS benefits the other day and it definately has the wls exclusions, any thing to do with weight loss including diets, support groups etc... So maybe they (Dr.'s office) can go ahead and check into Medicare. The more I read the booklet the more upset I got because they will help with such other health things like drug abuse, alcoholism etc....but not us because they (plus the majority of the public) think we CHOOSE to be this way. Sorry, I just had to vent on that isssue. BUT, I am sooo glad things are turning out good for you and soon your hubby will be on the losing side with you! I agree with you and Jeanne about the water thing.....I'd probably forget and drink it too. I drink about 2 of those big Taco Villa mugs of ice water every day and that would be my downfall...I would have to use one of my grandkids' little sippy cups Good luck to you and your hubby and have a safe trip Donna

Yes, I get that...Also, funny story, the first time that I went out after my surgery, we got fajitas and I had no tortillas and only 2 strips of chicken and some cheese and a tiny bit of guac...the waitress shot him dirty looks the entire time we were there, like she was thinking....feed your wife!!!
