WLS Albuquerque Support Group

Did anyone on this board attend last night, if so, please inform those that could not make it, including me, what was discussed and some of the details about it.

I finally went. Sorry that you were not there. A woman (I am sorry, not good a remembering names) talked about her experience with going to Dr. Blackstone and getting her insurance to approve it. It seemed to be mostly about the people going to scottsdale (sorry you missed it because I think that is the route you are trying to head if I remember correctly).

Her name is Dorothy B. What they did is last time we met they asked if anyone would like to share their story. So, even though this time it happened to be a patient that had surgery with Dr. Blackstone, next time it could be someone different. Much of the Group have had their surgery locally, just recently it seems we are getting a variety of people with outside surgeouns, which I think is awesome to learn about other surgeouns that may give people more options. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was great for the group. The last time I went back in June..... I felt like an outsider because I was trying to go to an out of town surgeon. So I am glad that they are noticing the need to pass along this information! Maybe next time I come I will bring the hubby since his surgery is next week.
