Support Group????
Actually, my surgeon was Dr. Lara (I can't figure out how to change it on OH!). I went through Las Palmas, not Del Sol. My experience has been great! Initially, it was a little frustrating trying to get insurance approval, etc.. But, once that was done, everything after that was pretty easy. I am over a year out and have seen Dr. Lara several times. Luckily, I have had zero complications. Right now, my D level is low, so working on that.
There are quite a few people in our group that either had Acosta or Lara as their surgeon. I encourage you to attend as everyone is very willing to share their experience. Also, there are many new people and several that are 2 or more years out, so the range of experience is great!
Hope to see you there. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me!

I had Dr Acosta, he was wonderful. The problem I had was the follow up. I developed a blood sugar issue 9 months post op and after repeated calls and eventually a filed complaint with the administrator there, I gave up and have not returned for a follow up. My local primary doctor (Dr. James Houle) takes good care of me. The surgery was text book perfect though. Hope this helps.
