Dr Syn in Lubbock, TX?

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with him.  I have seen he has done over 1400 operations so far and he does not do lap-band type at all.  Has anyone in here had him as their Dr?  What was your experience like?

I am currently seeing Dr. Syn!! I love him so far!!! I am in the process right now of getting approved with my insurance!! He has a website that has alot of his information!!

Looks like you and I are in the same boat.  I saw him on the 13th for my eval.  I am waiting on approval from United Healthcare.  I did the psych eval earlier today.  I spoke to someone in his office and she told me that the application for UHC was sent over 2 weeks ago.  I will hopefully be able to have the surgery in early Dec.

Thats exciting!!! I had my eval last week and Dr. Syns office is waiting on those results before submitting my stuff. I have BCBS and they told me it could take up to 2 months!!! Agh! Good luck I hope it goes through fast for you!! 

Irony of all ironies is that my Mom was there on the 20th for her eval.  She was going to go with a Dr in El Paso (she lives in Las Cruces), but is going with Dr Syn also.

LOVE HIM!!! He is THE BEST and his staff is EXTRA GREAT!!!! You can do no better. I had my surgery with him on 8/7/08 and have had NO complications.

That is my take on him so far.  Thank you for your posting.  It is just reassuring to know that my impression of him is the same as someone that has been through it.

I have used Dr. Syn as my surgeon.  I had my surgery on July 20,09.  I have lost around 55 pounds.   I have not had any problems at all.  I found Dr. Syn very professional and really knows his craft.  I have had several friends before me use Dr. Syn and they are the ones *****ally hold him in great regards.   The surgery is the best thing that I have done for me.  If you can have this surgery go for it. Sure you will be alittle sore the 1st week but by the 3 week you as good a new.   Dr. Syn is a real good surgeon.  Ray
