Hi everyone!! I'm starting my journey to my weight loss surgery and will be having RNY.  I'm scheduled for my 1st appointment with Del Sol (Dr. Lara) on June 13th.  Does anyone else out there have Lovelace Health Insurance (the HMO..not medicaid) who has been approved or knows what they want to approve you?  I've enrolled in the bariatric surgery program at southwest Endocrinology which is required and that is a 6-month program. Any advice?   Thanks! Michelle

Michelle, It sounds like we are on similar tracks, I have Lovelace and my first appointment at Del Sol is on June 5th. I was not aware of the requirement for the bariatric surgery program at southwest Endocrinology. How did you learn about this? Now I feel like I'm behind the curve and need to do some catching up. Hi Kevin! Thanks for your response.  Lori, at Del Sol gave me the heads up that Lovelace requires the program.  I'm doing the one that they have at Southwest Endocrinology (SWENDO) but it is an extra cost.  The program is $800 plus food supplements (should you choose to go that route).  Don't let the cost scare you though. They are REALLy good at working with you about payments, etc.  I believe their web site is www.swendo.com . So far from what I've heard Lovelace is good at approving it but  i haven't come across many people who have Lovelace.    Let me know if I can be of help and I'll keep you posted if I find anything else! Good luck! Michelle  :o)
