I wouldn't go to her.  Not because of skill issues but because she's with Betancourt Medical.  The patient coordinator pushing her right now claims she is a Mayo doctor.  Patti, the coordinator, told a friend of mine that she did her residency at Mayo.  This is not true, she was an unpaid visiting physician for a month at Mayo, that is not the same thing. Dr. Pompa was just Inamed certified in December, nowhere near long enough to get experienced.  I know she did one band and it took her three hours to place.  That procedure should take about 30 minutes.  There was no hernia involved, just placing the band.  That is concerning to me. I would do a search for the following terms here on OH and on www.lapbandtalk.com: Betancourt Huacuz (used to work for Betancourt) Molding Clinic (used to be where Betancourt worked) You'll find a wealth of information there. Be very careful, don't believe what coordinators tell you, they lie all the time.
Wow...It seems to me that you and WASabubblebutt have alot in common...hmmmm........I just keep wondering how many people are actual patients on these websites.  How can I find unbiased information on Mexcian surgeons?

Well, obviously  Wasa and I have a great deal in common since it is COMMON knowledge we are one in the same.  My ID on LBT is Wasa and my ID here is MWG.  Any idiot knows that.  Considering my profile is absolutely identical to Wasa... it's not hard to figure out.  Surely even YOU could figure out the same??

It is also common knowledge that Pompa's sleeves are big enough to feed a heifer.  I suppose you did  not know that either?

Dumbass.

Wow..your a real *****I am just trying to sort information out...Your a real angry person!!  Get professional help, honey you need more than WLS!!!

You are just a mean nasty person who needs a shrink.  I am NOT a paid poster as I am a REAL person. Either you are  a promoter for a certain surgeon, or you simply have no life whatsoever since all you do is POSTPOSTPOST on these message boards. The odds are 50% 50% as far as I can tell. All I am trying to do is find out REAL info on doctors in MX. You need to find a good psychiatrist. AND NOW I CHOOSE TO IGNORE ANYMORE OF YOUR NASTINESS!! all I gotta do i**** delete!!

Dr. Pompa did my surgery on 3-08-08.   I would recommend her.  I was in recovery before I knew it.   She explained everything to me.  I found her to be kind and understanding.  She was also patient because I had some surgery fears.  She walked me thru them.  I met Patti.  I found her to be very knowledgeable about the lapband.  She answered all my questions and calmed me down since I had surgical fears.  She still calls me after surgery to check on me.  I found her to be a doll.

Yes I have, I had a sleeve done there and my sister got the lap band, I totally recomend her. she is really nice, sweat as well as the rest of the staff. You can check her information at the American College of surgeons or go to her geb page at LIMARP.com, they have great attention and the best is that she has a lot experience in the bariatric surgery. She place them in less than 20-30 minutes, my sister is great and after 1 week she went back to work and I just lost 110pounds!!!!  just go for it, if you have any questions you can ask me at my mail [email protected] and I'll be gladd to help you.

I went to Dr. Pompa on 6/4/09 and everything has been great. She is a very confident woman who knows what she is doing with a great staff.

On a side note: Dont listen to MidwesternGirl aka WASaBubbleButt. When I was researching Dr. Pompa I saw that she has all sorts of nasty stuff posted all over under different screen names. Notice she came in here on 3/2008 then returned 4/2009 a year later to talk more trash. She didnt go to Pompa so she doesnt really have a valid opinion in this matter.

You can feel free to message me on here. Its best to talk to people who went there.

I also have a video from my surgery day with pictures if you would like to see it :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf3By8440m4

Good luck in whatever you decide!
