Any Support Group in Rio Rancho?

This is my first posting and I'm new to all of this.  I have been approved for the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy and I'm looking for a support group.  Does anyone know of any here or in Albuquerque closer to the West Side? Thanks for your help.

Hi, Welcome to the board. I don't know of any support groups meeting specifically in Rio Rancho; however, there is a support group in Abq called Abq New Body Beginnings. It meets in the building that houses the Presbyterian Urgent Care next to the Northside Medical Building just off the I-25 Frontage Road at San Mateo. They meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6:30-8pm. On entering the building, make a left at Urgent Care and go to the elevator. Take the elevator to the first floor, and make a left to the room next to the Cafeteria. Hope this is helpful!

Good morning, Debra I'm glad I could be helpful. You don't need to take anything and I encourage you to take someone with you. It will only help their understanding of what you are going through. Hello fellow Rio Rancher!!  I wish we did have a support group closer to home.  I didn't know about the one in ABQ.  Did you hear that Dr. Frezza is moving his practice?

"Butterflyana" informed me about that Friday night so I sent an email to Dr. Frezza.  He informed me that he will still do my surgery either the last two weeks of March or in April.  Other than that...I really don't know much about it. I'll let you know what else I do hear.

I certainly am glad that you will still get your surgery!  I'm glad I got mine done as well. 

WHERE IS FREZZA MOVING HIS PRACTICE TOO?

When I spoke with Dr. Frezza last week he didn't mention that he was leaving his practice. He said he was just busy with seminars and stuff relating to the school. I know that he is still doing my surgery either the end of March or in April.  He did, however, state that if he was leaving he would send a letter out to all his patients. That's about all I know. Hope that helps.
