Well, I finally heard from Dr. Davis' office in Houston. My file has been sent to the insurance company for final approval. I'm praying that it will all be ok'd and done by the end of the year. Am I hoping for too much? Any suggestions for how I should handle my call to the insurance company to see about "pre determination"? Wish me luck! Kellymb
Thank you for writing. I just got off the phone with the insurance company. What a bunch of crap we have to go through, huh??!! So much for paying all those premiums.... Guess you can see I'm pretty frustrated. I was transferred three times and finally got a "nice" person. Who will you be having surgery with, Dr. Blackstone? What a shame we all have to go out of state for help. Hang in there too and write again if you want to compare notes. Thanks, Kelly
How long do you have to stay there? I have to be in Houston for 2 weeks. It's going to cost a fortune to stay in a hotel. I will only be in the hospital for 2-3 days, but they want me close in case of complications. Did you know that you can claim the overage of costs of the surgery on your taxes? Contact your CPA for information. It won't pay for all the costs, but you can claim about $50/day for hotel costs. Let us know how things are going. Kelly
