He said fall so I'm thinking September/October

Hey Katie, welcome to the site.  Everyone is wonderful and very supportive here.  Dr. Pace didn't ask you to lose weight so its completely up to you if you want to start now.  As you know you have to do three weeks of liquid diet which will certainly cause some weight loss and reduce the fatty deposits on your liver.  He didn't ask me to lose weight either but I really needed to have my surgery by the fall because I really need to be out looking for work by December so I offered to lose 30 lbs.  That would reduce my BMI from 49 to below 45 and put me at lower risk so he wouldn't mind doing me earlier. 

So the choice is yours if you want to start now.  My only thought is every pound you lose before surgery is one less you will have to lose after surgery.

Hi all,, am new to this site,, as a friend directed me here,, and I had my app with my Surgeon,,, and he says I will be done before the end of the Summer,,, so the anticipation of waiting for the date is driving me crazy.. I have seen the Dietician,, and have to have the sleep apena test done,,,, so its just a waiting game,, I am so anxious and hate the waiting,, once I get my date of Surgery I will then feel better,,,, I would love all the advice both post and pre opt that anyone is willing to share,, I have been reading the comments and find them really good,, Good Luck to all those who are waiting... had surgery or on the road to recovery !!

Remember without that 30 lbs he wouldn't do your surgery until next year.
