Topic: RE: Update
I'd love to but this time is difficult because I have my kids and my mother-in-law with me. I know you offered to meet with Tammy Friday after work at Starbucks. That might work for me because we will be checked in the hotel by then and they can stay at the hotel or I can drop them at the mall or something.
Topic: RE: Inspiring Thought!
I saw my family Dr. yesterday and it told her the quote. She also suggested "Nothing tastes as good a healthy feels". I agree but I did explain to her that my definition of thin is nothing like hers. I said if I can get under 200 lbs I will feel thin. But your right, "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels" will be my words to live by.
Topic: HELP !!! Does anyone else have trouble with fluid?
Hi Everyone: I'm so frustrated right now !!!! Grrrrrr. I am trying to lose
30 lbs. for Dr. Pace , he wants my BMI down to 60 for my surgery it was 61
at my appointment in June. I have celulitis in my feet and legs. I am so
full of fluid , at times I can't walk my ankles are so tight. Trying to lose weight
when you have fluid is almost impossible. That's why I need the surgery.
Anyone have ideas to help. I heard that asparagus & pineapple are great
natural dieretics. So, I've been taking them. and that's what has helped
me so far but now I'm at a stand still. Where my weight is down one day
and back up on the next. I can go down 5 lbs. and when I check the scale
again 3-4 days later I'm up 6-7 ibs. a losing battle. I want this surgery so
much, what can I do???

Topic: RE: My Journey Begins
Hi Angela: Congratulations on the beginning of your journey to good health.
It's too bad you didn't see my message about what to wear for the sleep
test. I did message that to someone else in here. It is witten somewhere.
I haven't done the liquid diet yet so I can't advise you on that. Tina has
mentioned eating sugar free Mr. freezes for something to crunch and you
feel like you are actually eating something. Jenn had broth. Maybe reading
her blog would help. Hang in there, and keep us updated on your journey.

Jamie!
How are you doing? You're in the final countdown! When are you coming in for your pre-admission appointment?
Here's where my head was when I was in the t-minus countdown - and also a description of my surgery and hospital recovery experience - http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/jdeon/blog/2011/05/
Thinking of you and cheering you on,
Jenn

Hi Angela!
Welcome to the forum! I had VSG with Dr. Pace in May and TOTALLY remember being outraged that no-one told me I had to wear something I could sleep in for my sleep test - I was in a dress!
Anyway, I have blogged about my journey, including my liquid diet - which I found the most difficult. You can check it out on my profile if you like. :) http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/jdeon/
I live in St. John's and would be totally happy to meet for coffee anytime, if you like. Also, I work in the HSC, so that's convenient.
You are SO CLOSE to making the most wonderful change in your life ever - stay strong!
All the best,
Jenn

Love it! I think I might revise it, though, for myself, to "Nothing tastes as good as health feels!"
I don't think I'll ever be "thin" - but I'll celebrate when I get back down to "just" overweight (instead of obese) again!
;)
