I have strawaberry whey protein from wal-mart the bran name as you. I have a problem with taking the shakes to work. I am worried that they will go bad. Does that shaker that you got at wall mart get the chunks out. I hate the feeling of those chunks in my mouth. I do have a table top blender but I cant take that to work. I did pick up slim fast shakes which has 15 grams of protein and same for the carnation breakfast anytime shakes, but Raleen said its to much sugar. I dont like boost. What are the brands that are available at at popeye's. I have a family member driving out to st.johns. They said they will pick some up for me but dont know what kinds to get. I will buy the shaker you got and see If it works well for me.
Thanks
I know premade protein shakes are easier but most of them will not get you where you need to be. I am 2 weeks after my surgery now. Before surgery I could have a high protein boost once a day but since then it goes right through me because there are too many carbs. Even the diabetic boost is not staying in well. I can drink about half of one and then the other half a couple of hours later. I find it much easier now to stick with the homemade shakes made from powder.
I bought a Whey Protein made with sucralose, vanilla ice cream flavor. I would add in low sugar juice, milk, and ice, it would be an awesome smoothie! My all time fave was adding 1/2 cup decaff coffee, it was better than any ice capp from Tims!
I debated buying them all, but I think that would get rather expensive. Making them takes 2-3 mins in total, and you can play around with flavors. Adding 1/4 cup OJ makes it taste like a Buried treasure Ice cream, or a creamsicle!
Making them yourself allows you to count the carbs much easier. The only carbs that were in mine was the amount that was in the Milk. I did not take insulin for the 2 weeks, and my highest was approx 5.7.
Try not to get stressed out with Raleen, she seems like an awesome person, and I am sure she is just suggesting things that can benefit you.
I need help with what I can and cannot eat. One min they are saying one thing then the next they are saying something else. They tell ya to drink protein shakes but she tells me its to much carbs. On my fluid diet I took the protein shakes to work and when I told them they said those shakes are no good cause they only are 15 grams of protein and too much sugar. I don't live in st.johns and cant buy st,johns brands. I don't order online. I get more than enough protein but now their complaining that I may be consuming too much carbs and sugar. I lost weight. Talking to Raleen stresses me out big time. I gets worked up talking to her. I just cant win with her. I guess she just like me.
What protein shakes do most drink and how many carbs and sugar are in them?
what foods can I eat?
I live on whey protein shakes, yogurt, oatmeal, 1% milk, !% chocolate milk. That's the easiest thing to take at work for a single parents like me who don't have much time. That's not good enough apparently. I tried other things but just don't like it.
This is also different from the information session. So maybe some people are getting the 2 confused.
