Thank you for that Mary - misery loves company... ;)

So what are these high protein cereals you speak of? I would love to have an option to my morning shake...

The dreaded McCkicken. I had one yesterday - and maybe have one very two or three months. No fries with it of course - and I ALWAYS ditch the biggest part of the bun (usually) the top part, keep the lettuce on top and eat it as an open face sandwich. Oftentimes I don't end up eating all of the bottom bun if I start to feel full. And I still NEVER drink with my meals. We were into St. John's and out yesterday - a long day of driving and errands - I had just gotten off a night shift. So by noon I was really needing some solid protein. Had I been at home I would have been in bed. Ideally I would have eaten a bowl of high protein cereal with skim milk - but you know how it is when you are on the road. Options are limited. And - over Hallow'een - disaster - I couldn't get those dreaded little chocolate bars out of my house fast enough. For the most part - I just don't keep junk food in my house. It's easy for me - my son is away at MUN. Husband working in Lab City - back and forth - so it's just me and the dog. Unfortunately the RNY did not increase my will power. Head hunger is a *itch and old habits die hard. And one bad day does not negate all the good ones. Hang in there Jenn! You look terrific by the way!!!!

 Jenn,

I think all our goals should be health first and weight last.  That is why I am here - I want to stop and where possible reverse the damage I am doing to myself.   In every weight loss journey I have been on journalling has been my key to success.  When I journal I lose and when I stop I gain.  Usually more than I lost.

I am hoping that with the sleeve as a tool I will be able to stop the gain backs.   My goal - regular blood sugars and a healthy liver.   What size will I be I don't know.   I keep my weight goals small - they are not as important as the health issues.  At the same time they are my measurement to see if I am moving towards healthier (and I want a lower BMI for surgery) . It really is a love hate relationship witha  scale, isn't it?

It seems your mind is in the right place!  Kick start your journal again, enjoy your zumba and your pilates class!   You have come so far!  Be proud of that.   Watch your portions, and as often as you can make those night snacks healthy ones.   And treat yourself!  And when you need to vent to all of us here!

Because you have not gained I think your stomach has not gone back to regular capacity.. if you are muching on some carbs and sugars...well they make you crave carbs and sugars.   LOL.  Let us know how the journaling goes!  See if "Sleevie" agrees with it.

Keep Rocking your sleeve ( and maybe that means maintenance as opposed to losing more)

Slippery slope time indeed....

Recently it seems like my stomach's capacity is creeping back towards normal. Halloween was TOUGH and I seem to be reverting to my night-time munchies...

Well, yup, it's back to WORK indeed! Today I am re-starting my journalling of my diet - it's really the only way that I can be accountable to myself - and Rhoda, when I see her next week for my 6-month post-op appointment.

I haven't regained any weight over the last couple of weeks - but I sure haven't lost any either!

I think 160 might be a tad unrealistic, but who knows? I feel really good and really healthy at 195 - but another 10-15 pounds brings me out of the obese category into just overweight, which would be awesome. I may just shoot for that as a life-goal.

Also trying my first Zumba class tonight and (God help me) Pilates on Thursday with a skinny coworker.

Wish me luck!

You will have some other tests done in pre-op... the Fri. before your surgery.
Tina was telling me , they are just standard blood tests, (chest x-ray, I think
she said) EKG, talk to the Dr. putting you to sleep, fill out some forms, etc. It
takes a couple hours.

I have done everything that has to be done and my last step is to meet with the surgeon. I have everything done but I still wont get done any quicker and im ok with that.....ill wait my turn like everyone else has to!!!

Thanks Terri! I'm hoping to get in before April because I'll be back to class then, not that I'd wouldn't take the time off school for the surgery. I haven't been a healthy weight since I was like 3 and the excitement and curiosity about being a healthy weight has got my mind going a mile a minute!

Hi Gloria: Everyone is different. With each case. I've seen Dr. Pace June 16th.
but haven't been to an information session and I haven't met with Reyleen or
Rhoda yet. Then it depends on your BMI, my is high, it was 61 when I saw Dr. P
It is 58 now. He wanted it below 60 for surgery. I was one of the 1st. on the
referral list when he started. But he started do people with lower BMI's to
start out with the easier op's. So, I am still waiting. I'm hoping to get surgery
in Feb. there is an information session in early Jan. With your lower BMI. You
might get in then too.
