Hi there was going to wait around to meet you but my son in law worked from 1am to 7 am and he never had no sleep so I ended up going there to take care of my grandson for him to sleep...
I was there for a couple of hours also..Talked mostly to Rayleen and Rhoda also Kim...
Dr.Pace was like the flash in and out with in a few minutes...lol..shook my hand and gace my shoulder a nudge and said see you in the new year....so far there has been 18 surgeries done ....So i guess you saw the stapler they use,Rayleen had it there to show how its done...
I start my liquid diet the same time and Dr.Pace wants me to do three weeks of it...I have to call Rayleen and tell her when I started so she can get me in for another appointment to go over the journal and see how I am doing...I also have to start to take a viitmints(note to spelling)lol....my b12 is on the low side of normal....My BMI is 57 will have it down some the next time they see me...so we have to wait a littler longer but we will be on the losers bench soon...
I stopped at the bulk barn later this evening and picked up some Whey gourmet in strawberry banana flavor you can mix it with water or milk and one scoop is 21 grams of protien...they also have a protien there just for mixing in your water,its not a shake suppose to help with thirst but gives you extra protien ...I will be picking that up next week and will let you know how it goes...
Well since I am only home now for half hour I am going to have a cup of coffee,seeing as I will be giving it up ...

So, how did your appointment go Valerie? 
I was there in the office for exactly 2 hours. Talking mostly with Reyleen and Rhoda. Plus, Kim was there from the research survey. I was talking to her for 15 mins. or so.
I saw Dr. Pace for exactly 15 seconds...LOL He came in shook our hands said I see
you are doing great with your dieting keep up the good work. I'll be doing your surgery
in the new year. He wanted me to initial and date my consent form. and he was gone in
a flash. I'm still looking at probably the end of Feb. Rhoda said to start my 2 week liquid
diet right after New years. Then she will give me another appointment to come in with
my journal and we go from there. My BMI is down to 59. He said that he is doing a
couple of people in the 50's range now before Christmas. I think he said one was a
54 BMI. So, that's good news. One of the ladies said that to date he has had one
person that leaked and he had to reopen them. But, other than that the surgeries
have been successful. I did have my hopes up about getting done sooner because
they called me in early. So, as I was talking to Rhoda I had a couple tears rolling for
a second but I'm over it, knowing I only had a couple more months to wait.

it does suck waiting that long !! and discouraging, seems
the few post i have posted in here have been me being discouraged
and disapointed. .. i was on the top of the list for when they did get the OK
to do it 11 yrs ago and it just took em that long to get the OK
yet im still waiting, and ppl have been in and out , and i know they say the ppl with the lower BMI
and stuff , but theres been a cpl whos already done who didnt wait 1/2 as long as what ive been waiting, and there BMI and weight was the same as mine and higher yet they are done..
i got all my test and stuff done and signed my consent with dr pace back in June to OK it all and be ready to go when ever they called, i havent got a call yet nor have i got a call with meeting raylene and the other misses either like some ppl have said they did........... So ya it is disapointing and makes
one loose hope after waiting so long, but im trying by best to hold on as for having to wait i have no choice only to wait. but i do hope i get in early new yr, i want this done and over with and start a new IF i could do it on my own i would have long ago but i cant and need the help...............

Thanks Jackie, I've been 3 years trying to get surgery off the island before Dr. Pace
started doing it here. Jan. 23 will be a year waiting for Dr. Pace. Others with lower BMI
having been getting done first. Because I've been called in I am assuming he is going
to now start with the higher ones. I was one of the 1st. on the list when he started this.
I had a meeting with him in June and signed my consent form already.

I don't understand why the wait is so long? I have noticed most are only waiting roughly 4-6 months on average.....I am (fingers crossed) getting done early new year and I can't imagine how hard it must be to be waiting so long. I have had my appt with raleen and rhoda and sleep study done since october,all thats left is to sign consent and I have been told that feb is looking good for me.Hope you get an appointment or surgery date soon....good luck terrie

Hey Newfiesunshine: I can't imagine having to wait 11 yrs. OMG !
I would be bonkers by now. I've been waiting for over 4 yrs. I have
my 2nd. meeting with Dr. P tomorrow morning. It's the 1st. time
meeting with Reyleen & Rhoda. I hope your waiting is over soon.
