Hi There,

You and I have a lot in common!  I was Dr. Pace's first patient almost 12 years ago- see my post.  I too have been very frustrated with the wait, but I understand that  it is a new procedure and he needs to start with lower BMI people to reduce the risks and complications,  They have a lot to prove to a lot of people and need the stats to be as good as possible I suppose.  But now he's lifted the lower BMI ban and doing according to when people were referred.  I am scheduled for February and I am 54 BMI.  Your time will soon be here!  Keep the faith!

Sounds like you're doing well newfie but green tea has caffeine unless you have decaffeinated.

Topic: before and After pictures
I was just browsing through the site, and noticed that there is a gallery of before and after pictures. Some of them are very dramatic. I found a few people who look to be my height and weight, and while the body shape is kinda difficult, it is interesting to see what they looked like a year post surgery.  I have really gotten excited about the potential this surgery has.  I mean I know people have gained it all back after the surgery, I've seen that on the Biggest Loser even, contestants that gained back their weight after Gastric Bypass or Banding. That part scares the you know what out of me.  I really want to get it off, and get active. I have always wanted to be a runner, and I have done run and walk treks and loved the feeling of running.  Hopefully when I get down to a decent weight I can learn to run and help me keep it off.
My thoughts are really with those of you having surgery on the 13th. I would love to be that far along in the process.  I have three daughters, ages 8, 9, and 10 and I want to be well and healthy.  I've been overweight my entire life and right now I feel like I am more than ready to put my best foot forward and live the life I have always wanted. Ive been overweight my entire life and it's my time!

Topic: RE: Jan 6th Session
Hey Terrie, Im pretty excited for you! Mind if I sneak a peak on your progress on here? I will be thinking of you for sure on the the 13th, while I work away at the HSC.  Good luck on it all.  I think the liquid diet got to be the worst part. Sticking with a full liquid diet for two weeks before the surgery is gonna be hard for me.. AFter the surgery I can see it being a bit easier, as you are sore and what not from the surgery, but before will definatly be hard for me.

I got my referral a few months ago and sent in the same day. I know that one of the girls, is apparently expecting and she is trying to get alot of sessions done before she goes of on Mat leave. I know there has to be a huge list right now. I hope to find out this week or next when I will have my meeting with R and R.  I remember thinking about going to ON years ago to have it done. I have this vision of me getting healthy  finally. I wanna be a big time loser!
Thanks for the support, You too Mary. I will be watching you all!

Thanks Tina & Mary, I don't find it too bad. But, slipped a little last night.
I had a spread put out for some company and I sneaked 3 meatballs and
6 shrimp. Bad, bad, I know, but I told myself that I wasn't really accually
started. My calorie intake for yesterday was only at 730. So, the snacks
weren't hurting too much. I am doing better today. I don't know if it's wrong
to do it this way, but I find it easier to right the journal page for the day
and then go by that, rather than eat and then write it. To Newfie...I have the
Tetra shakes from Costco (pre-mixed) 18 in a case for $30. Rhoda suggested
them because 1 shake has 30g of protein, so, 2 gives you the minimum
amount you need in a day. Plus, I like them. I am afraid of the powders..LOL
So, I have one in the morning and one at supper. a soup for lunch and then
yogurts and puddings etc. for snacks.
