 I WAS READING JDEON'S BLOG LAST NIGHT WORK FOR WORK
AS I WAS READING IT I COULD FEEL MYSELF GETTING
NERVIOUS AND A LIL BIT OF ANXIETY  AND THOUGHT CAN I REALLY
DO THIS AND THEN IT CLICK INDEED I CAN THO IT WAS NERVE RECKING READING EVERY
LITTLE DETAIL I SAID YES I CANT WAIT TO GET THIS DONE,
LIFE IS GOING TO BE SO DIFFERENT FOR THE GOOD

I CANT WAIT TO GO TO A  MOVIE AND NOT THINK THE CHAIRS ARE TO TIGHT,,,
OR LOOK IN A RESTURANT AND DECIED IF IM GOING IN OR NOT CUZ THERE ARE ARMS ON THE CHAIRS. OR GOING TO A PARK WITH ALL KNDS OF RIDES AND WONT GO ON THEM CUZ IM BIG
 IM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THE DAY THAT I WONT STOP MYSELF FROM DOING ALOT OF
 THINGS AND BE ABLE TO ENJOY THEM LIKE EVERYONE ELSE

HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL. ITS GOOD TO GET THINGS OUT TO OTHER PPL
WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME THINGS. :)

Its like you read my mind.  I've thought of all those things too.  Not to mention cutting your risk of cancer by 50%.

We have all thought the same things.... just going on an airplane and
not having to ask for a seltbelt extention... my grandson wants me to
take him bowling... that's the first thing he said when he heard that I
was going to have surgery and get better.

Aside from the health benefits - there are hundreds and hundreds of little things that make this journey so worthwhile. Here are a few that come to my mind
-being able to cross your legs
-getting in an airplane and doing up the seat belt and then pulling it tight
-going through turnstiles at stores with no problem
-shopping at normal stores
-using a smaller towel to dry off
-much easier to shave your legs
-navigating my work environment so much easier ( I work in a busy ER)
-flying through a 12hr shift with ease - physically anyway - mentally - it's harder all the time

They call all these little things NSV's - which stands for non-scale victories. There are so many of them that happen at different times once we are post-op. Little perks. Things that people who do not have a weight problem take for granted.

i was so nervous at first too.also wondered if i could do all this.but it will soon be 5 weeks post op for me and it is the best life changing experince ever.my health is much better i can actually stand on my legs with no discomfort.i can do more things on my own now without getting help from my family.one thing that has changed alot is my higher level of energy.the only thing i find hard is when i went to a bit of mashed food.i find it really hard to eat 3 teaspoons but im sure with time it will get a little easier.i can live with that though everything has been well worth it.good luck to everyone if you have any questions just ask i dont mind.

Hi Tracy: It's nice to hear an update from you. It's good to hear how differently
you and Jenn are in your post-op dieting. So, we realize that if we can't eat the
way Jenn is progressing it's okay. We will all progress in our own time and it's 
okay if we decide to stay on fluids for 4 weeks then go to mush for 3-4 weeks. 
If we don't feel up to eating more solid foods at 6-8 weeks. That's okay. Are you
finding your clothes falling off yet? I know Jenn is a very active person from what
I've seen of her when we met. With her walks at work etc. so she is progressing
along faster.That is my problem, I am not active and I have to try each day just to
get up and move. Thanks for sharing anything you feel comfortable with Tracy.

my clothes are diffently falling of but its a wonderful feeling.i seen my family dr today and told him i was finding hard on the mashed food.he said not to worry because its just im not ready has its been so long now with no food.i will keep on trying a couple of teaspoons a time.like you said everyone is different and handles things differently.but its not all bad.good luck on your diet and just keep thinking your doing this to better yourself.i found it very hard to walk before but now i go everyday and if its raining i went and bought a biggest losser exercise dvd.
