Hi Jenn,

First of all thank you so much for keeping us updated with your blog.  Its so great to get an idea of the process we will go through.  Please don't gloss anything over.  If its to be truly helpful to us we need to read the good, the bad, and the ugly.  You seem like such a character!  I would love to get to meet you in person someday.

Jenn when you get a chance can you give us some details about the pre-op and post-op diets.  Thanks again.

Tina

Hi, Congratulations on your surgery and good luck on your journey!!  I am 3 days ahead of you, VSG on 17 May.  My recuperation is going well and I'm losing well..  OH has been a great tool for learning and sharing and the VSG forum is the friendliest of the ones I have found.  Thanks for sharing your experience.

Congratulations on your surgery and I wish you every sucess...Im so glad that finally there is someone taking this matter seriously in our province, I have been over 8 years advocating for such to be done here...there are so many doctors here in the province that can do this surgery but were never allowed to do it..its nice to finally see progress, I am a patient with a ? diagnois of cushings syndrome, and ? polycystic ovarian syndrome, which may interfer with me being accepted for this surgery..but I am hoping it wont..I was a patient at the health sciences, the end of april when my endocrinoligist ..dr, galway mentioned to me, that this was now being started, but I was later told I was not a canadate for surgery and believe it is due to my weight, Im not sure..if it is because they cannot do surgery on anyone over 300 pounds, do you know if this is a problem in order for people to qualify.Im just curious..I do wish you lots of success..and am proud our province is finally getting hip to the health care needs of those struggling with obesity..and obesity related disorders...cheers..

It is so good to hear about this being done in NL. I am from Newfoundland but I have not lived there for almost 30 years. I'm in Ottawa but ended up going to Mexico for my VSG after being on a wait list for more than a year in Ottawa for RNY which was not the surgery of my choice, I hope all is well for you and I will check the NL forum more frequently.
