is there a doctor or bariatric clinic in st.johns or nearest one

i have a friend who is interested but she lives on the burin pemninsula any there have wls recently / would love to be able to pass on the info to her

No such luck. There are a few doctors in the province who are trained in bariatric surgery - but none of them are doing the surgery in the province. One of them is Dr. David Pace in St. John's. I believe he had wanted to do bariatric surgery a while back - but there were a lot of infrastructure barriers to get it up and running. Mainly $$$$ - the cost of bariatric beds, stretchers, OR tables etc etc. The closest centres that I know of are Halifax and Moncton. Check the message boards for those provinces and you should be able to get the info you need. Good luck!
