Hi all, I'm from Newfoundland as well (but now living in Ottawa) and my husband and I are both looking to have WLS. My husband has a consult with Dr.Fitzer in Utica, NY on September 4 and I am still waiting to see a doctor at the Civic hospital in Ottawa for a consultation.

 Hello, I am a transplanted Newfie, living in BC since I was a kid, but born a Newfie all the same. I was born in Grand Falls, married a man from Burgeo (He's only been out in BC since '96. Mom and Dad went back home to retire 2 years ago and we try to get home every 2nd year or more if possible. Just can't get enough of home. Just thought I'd check out the Newfoundland forum, cool.  I have a first consult with Dr Malik in Victoria BC Dec 2nd.  Hope to have RnY sometime in 2010. The wait list is fairly long but as I can see not as long as some of you may have to wait. I am considering going to Washington to have it done sooner but I need a form filled out by a bariatric surgeon so I will have to wait till I see him in Dec anyway. Good luck to all of you and hope to meet others with the same goal!
