Will I be eligible?
Yesterday I had a splitting headache at work. It felt as if I was being hit with a sledge hammer. I went to the nurse and asked her to check my blood pressure and give me two tylenols for my headache. I was in so much pain I was actually in tears. My blood pressure was 170/??? (I can't remember the other number), but she was extremely worried. The doctor, who just happened to be in yesterday (I work at a high school and had gone to the school nurse), immediately sent me straight to the emergency room. Another coworker took me to the emergency room and stayed with me until my hubby got there.
To make a long story short, when they checked my blood pressure, it was 140/??? and the doctor requested a cat scan done, which came back negative. They gave me an I.V. for my headache, and let me go around 2 hours later. I was told to go to my personal doctor because my cat scan had came back negative and my blood pressure had gone down to normal.
Today I visited my personal doctor and he was shocked when I told him what my blood pressure was when it was checked at school. He took my blood pressure again and it was 155/??. He immediately told me I was going to be on treatment and told me that for the past couple of months my blood pressure had been high, but he was just waiting to see if it was stress, or what. He did a complete set of blood work: cbc, liver, sugar, colesterol, and I don't know what else.
I told him that I was planning on WLS, and he told me that the procedure involved a lot of paper work, referrals, and not to be frustrated with the process. I take that as a thumbs up from my doctor and that he's willing to fill out any forms necessary.
I go for my seminar tomorrow. I'm so excited!!!!!!
