A little scared!!!
Hi, I'm posting for the first time! I'm a home health nurse and mother of two soon to be teens. I'm scheduled for my lap-band surgery on Tuesday 3/13. After everything I've gone through these past 8 months I thought the closer it got the more excited i'd be but, I'm starting to get scared. I've had laproscopic surgery before to remove my gallbladder, but, that was in 1991. I'm afraid of complications and all the changes my life is about to take! Don't get me wrong, I'm also very excited about really getting a handle on my weight. Just in an emotional whirl wind right now!!!! Am I crazy?????

I'd be more worried if you weren't feeling a little scared! It's totally normal and most everyone feels scared before surgery, even if they know it's the best thing for them, it's scary. I know I was scared, up until the minute they put that medicine in my IV that knocked me out. I actually walked to the OR, and I was sure my knees were going to buckle, but they didn't.... I made it all the way there, and 6 months later I am 93 pounds lighter and life is good. Look at the prize ahead, it's so worth it!
Godspeed on Tuesday,
Michelle Brennan
