3 month update

hello to all who have helped me along my way today marks 3 months since my open rny surgery -- i am 1 lb shy of losing 50 lbs -- but i am under the 180 mark i feel wonderful!! i just feel great still i can climb stairs without dragging my legs -- i can wear jeans -- i can put the seatbelt on without pulling it extra long to go around my belly -- i can wear jeans -- i can walk around a store and not feel like the whole world is staring at the 'fat couple' (ross has lost over 150 since 5/22/06) -- i can sit comfortably in a movie theater -- i can wear jeans -- and my overall health just feels so much better!! i'm not tired anymore -- i'm not dragging ass anymore -- i just feel good there are no words to describe it -- i am very grateful to my surgeon, pcp, and team of help that i had to make this a reality -- and i am very grateful to all of you who have gone before me and led the way Thank you Roberta

hey roberta!! that is wonderful news, i can tell you are feeling great!!! your weight loss is wonderful, keep up that great work. good news about your jeans too, i did catch your drift there (grin). im doing well also, im just about 7 months out now and just a few pounds short of the 100 lb mark. hope to see more of you on the board again. hugs, jacki

Hooray for you! I wish I knew your secret! I am 16 weeks out and have lost 50, been exercising, following the program to a T....but I would like to know what the magic has been for you to lose so much more quickly - probably because you are younger, LOL! Congrats!

hi sheri no secrets i don't weight myself -- i will not be addicted to the scale and get that dreaded feeling of not losing enough like other people get and label themselves failures cuz they gained a pound i don't stress over the weight -- like that stupid commercial says "stress causes cortisol and cortisol increases belly fat" -- stupid commercial lol i'm not hungry -- so i don't follow the diet to a T -- i might have a yogurt for dinner -- i might have a chips ahoy cookie with the kids at their snack time (and yes it's good) i have a protein shake in the AM while i'm reading the paper -- i'll eat turkey & cheese or ham & cheese and douse it with those spray on (spritzers) salad dressings -- that way i feel like i'm eating and drinking at the same time haha or else i'll have mashed potato and meat at dinnertime doused in applesauce -- i still don't eat breakfast -- probably most days i don't have lunch -- i just started getting in all my liquids the past couple of weeks when i started my new position at work -- i buy 2 (two) 33 oz bottles of water at Wawa on my way to work -- that way i know i'm getting at least 64 oz of water a day -- plus the protein drink -- i'm not sitting on my ass as much in work -- i'm responsible for 4 teenagers now so i'm always running up and down the stairs -- running from the living room to the kitchen to the bathroom downstairs -- out to the garage to grab something -- back upstairs for something -- downstairs (halfway) back upstairs cuz i forgot something lol and then help me please if one wants to act up!!!! i go shopping alot in the mornings so i'm always walking around walmart either for my own house or the group home lol i guess i do alot more than i think oh and the dairy queen soft serve ice cream cone on sunday was good too and the 4 pieces of popcorn chicken from KFC on sunday was good that was monday's lunch and dinner also -- an individual size can last a long time now haha i don't crave foods that i know i shouldn't have at the moment -- i just let it be a fleeting thought i'll give 2nd thoughts to what i'm about to eat -- chances are i won't eat it -- except the chips ahoy cookie i faithfully take my vitamins according to charts and stuff i have 18 months to lose this weight -- i don't have to get it all done in 1 month -- so i'm taking my time it falls off as it falls off -- i'm not going to stress over it and get more gray hairs!! and according to the chart i am 3 lbs ahead of the game and maybe next month i'm a little slower -- but i believe that in the end it will all balance out i'm at 13 weeks -- only 2 weeks from you take care of yourself Roberta

Hi Roberta: You go girl! I see you stressed the jean thing.. that is awesome.. I went to fashion bug today just to see if i could fit into a smaller size. well guess what i went froma 30/32 to a 22/24 and so excited. I have to day lost 56# and a TON of inches. I feel great as well lots of energy. I can't wait til the summer.. Bought a new treadmill last week burnt my old one out, walk 1.5 miles on it a day. Just feel great all around.
