Update
Hello to all my fellow losers
I just got out of the hospital again on Wednesday. This time it was the mental health ward. I was severely depressed for about 3 weeks, not eating, not taking care of myself, not sleeping, sleeping too much and other stuff. I was admitted last Thursday. They changed all my antidepressants around and I am feeling somewhat better. Went on Thursday to see Dr. J-B and I am 10 weeks out and have lost 50 pounds. I am also down 31.25" all over. Yea-ha!! I was so excited!! Couldn't believe it. That certainly gave me a reason to smile. Kathy from Dr JB's office has been a total life saver and guardian angel. She has been right by my side the past three weeks and I couldn't have done it without her. Thanks to everyone at the office for all their support and they are going to be keeping a close eye on me for a while. Hoping to make the Monday meeting in Lakewood. See you then.
Peace,
Kim

Hi Kim, I'm so sorry to hear about your crash........and glad to hear you received responsive treatment and are feeling better. Any advice for us newbies (I'm postop day 3 and decided to go off of Paxil after 6 years which is more annoying than any post-op stuff I'm experiencing.) I've been told over and over how terribly stressful the post-op period can be ****rtainly channeled all of my energy into getting the surgery and now that it's been done the real work begins!). If you could share anything about what you were feeling I have a feeling a lot of us could benefit. Susan
Hello Kim~
I am so glad you are feeling much better. I have been to that place myself (only in Texas for me, about 10 years ago now) and it did me a world of good! I think that every human being should get to experience what it's like to take care of themselves in such a deep way. I had a great time there, I was there for 2 weeks, I flew there alone, no kids, no husband, nothing... just me and God to hash out some details, and I came back to NJ so much healthier! I hope your experience was as good as mine was. We can talk at the Lakewood meeting if you want.
I have been on Zoloft since that excursion to TX and I decided after surgery not to take it anymore. I weaned myself off it before surgery and figured this was the perfect chance to see how I would do without it. I have been fine. I did have a stressful "period" around New Years, KID problems......, but I got through it
I always blamed the Zoloft for the weight gain over the past 10 years, about 50 pounds actually, so I think I did it for myself mentally and physically.
CONGRATULATIONS on the 50 pound weight loss.... now that you are feeling better and eating better that might slow down a bit, but mental health is more important than rapid weight loss. Put yourself first and your health will follow right in suit.
See you in Lakewood!
Michelle Brennan
