Hi,
It's been confirmed that the January session will not be rescheduled -- the Feb, 16th date is the next one (you can sign up via the link above).
Stay safe out there in the snow (will it ever stop this year?!)!
Best,
Grant

Hi All,
Not surprisingly, the hospital is cancelling tonight's surgical weight loss information session due to the weather. It may be resheduled, but keep in mind there is another session scheduled for Wed., February 16 at the Frank Jones Center in Portsmouth. You can sign up for that session here:
Hope everyone stays dry, warm and safe. Please drive and walk safely today! I will keep you posted if the session is scheduled before next month's session.
For those of you who are in or have already been through our program -- I'm still here, so let me know if you have any questions needing answers!
Best,
Grant

Thank you for the congrats! I know you are going to reach your goal soon! Keep up the good work. I felt like it was such a long struggle and then I blinked and I was there. I loved that feeling of meeting the pre-op weight goal. I can't imagine the excitement when I meet my real weight loss goal of 120 lbs.
We have exciting times ahead of us, don't we? I am glad we will be able to share our struggles and strengths!
You keep me posted too!

Thanks for the advice! I do have to keep focused on the big picture. I will be so happy to be on the other side of surgery. What a journey this is!
You know, I never seriously considered weight loss surgery. My friend was considering it and asked me if I would attend an info session with her. I never thought that I would be on this journey and now that I have come so far, I only want to move forward!
It is hard to let go of unhealthy eating habits but I am hoping to do just that and to develop healthy habits to take their place.
Thank you so much for the offer of support through this process! This site is such a wonderful tool.

first there is a 24 hour liquid diet before your surgery. It is clear liquids no protein, so chicken broth is out. That was the hardest thing for me, I was working that day so I just kept the crystal light bottle full and drank constantly.
As for a last meal, I wanted to go to the Steak House in Well's for a nice steak dinner. Some people have a whole list of things they want to eat one last time, but remember this is a life time of change and moderation is a big thing for us. I know I may be able at some point to eat things I can't now. I am not sure if I will want them, but just knowing I could have a bite has helped me not crave things.
I do dump, so I avoid sugar still, and am not sure if I would ever go back to it. I am glad you have reached your goal, but remember it is your weight the morning of surgery that matters. The more you lose pre-op the better off you will be. Good luck and enjoy the journey, drop me a line if you want to chat or I work at the shipyard, so if you want company after your surgery I can stop over.

My question is do they put you on a liquid diet a couple days before? Also, does anyone have a "last supper" before surgery or do most people do that before losing their pre-op weight?
I read a funny excerpt from a book where a surgery candidate said she ate so many "last suppers" she was too sick of food to have a "last supper" the day before her surgery!

You are doing great! Keep up the good work! :) I just reached my pre-op goal weight yesterday and I can not even begin to tell you how good it feels.
