Topic: Tuesday's Plan
Well, I know it has been a while since I posted, but I feel I need to do this for me.

Breakfast - egg, cheese & bacon wrap
snack - Greek Yogurt w/ raspberries & Splenda
lunch - roast beef on slice of Assiago cheese bread w/ cheese & Honey mustard
snack - cheese stick
dinner - Chicken and steamed veggies (maybe a little rice)
This should help me be accountable for what is in my mouth today.

Hope you have a great day!!

Debbie,
You can do this, you have the tools to do it, if you have to you can do a 2 week liquid diet pre-op.  Some programs call for it.  I was glad that I only had a 24 hour liquids although that was easy for me.  I was working and just kept drinking crystal light.  Smile and relax don't go crazy it will happen when it is meant to.  Good luck.

Wow! Can I ever relate. Once I made my weight loss goal, all I had to do was keep it off and not lose more than 10 pounds more before I see the medical director. Guess what? I've gain 6 lbs. I'm so disappointed in myself and am also wondering if I am self-sabotaging. Almost called a shrink and eating disorder program today as I was on a total binge. I am determined to turn it around. I have 2 weeks to lose the weight and have promised myself to buckle down and get back to the gym and lo-cal program tomorrow. I am hoping to wake up with a better attitude because I haven't been feeling too proud of myself this past week. Best wishes to you!

Jenn,
no worries about babbling, we all do it when we are nervous.  Welcome back and I am glad you are here.  That is the first step towards your goal reaching out for support is very important.

I am not sure if you would have to do all of the pre-op programs again, that is something for your program manager or DR. to tell you.  I know that I sabotaged my self for a while, I was going through the process with my DH and needed to lose the weight as well, but didn't think I could do it.  I watched him go through all of the classes (which I attended with him) and walked step by step through the whole process with him.  I gained 11 lbs while he lost 18.  Then my mom started getting sick and I was spending time in the hospital with her, eating was on my mind a lot.  I knew I had to make a choice after I lost my mother if I wanted to live to see my boys grow up and become men.  They are 16 & 17, I want to see grandchildren (not any time soon) but I do want to see them and help my boys when the go through all of life's ups and downs.

It is scary, it is hard and it is the best decision I have ever made for ME!!!!! yes the kids are part of why but I wanted to enjoy life again, and now I am doing that.  I have lost over 100lbs I walk with my head held high and just smile through life.

You can do this drop a line when ever you need someone to chat with or just have questions.  There is a great group here!!!

Topic: hello again
Hello Everyone!

My name is Jennifer and I have not been on for a long time.  I am looking forward to having RNY gastric bypass.  I started the process 2 years ago with my best friend.  She was successful and had her surgery that same year and has lost well over a hundred pounds.  I on the other hand have struggled.  I finished all of the pre-op requirements, except the losing of the weight.  I had to lose 30lbs and i got within 11lbs of my goal and am not sure what happened.  That was a year ago and now I am still struggling with the pre weight loss.  I feel like maybe I am subconsciously sabotaging myself.  Now I am afraid I will have to do all the pre requirements again, but that is alright with me.  I really do want this for myself and my family.  Did anyone else have a problem with the weight loss before surgery? I do feel like I am ready now and can use all the advice I can get.  Thank you for listening to all my babbling.

Topic: RE: where to buy sugar free products?
Well this is just my experience,  Christmas tree shop has some sugar free products at reasonable prices, but they are more cake type things, sauces and toppings.  Ocean state job lots again has some more of the sugar free jams, honey, and sauces.  I have found making my own has been the best bet.   I am not sure what you are looking for?  I hope this helps.

Tracy,

I am 3 months post-op Realize Band and Dr. Catania did my surgery. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him. He is very caring and very supportive. He gives me as much time as I need at each and every appointment. He explains everything very carefully and makes sure you understand everything. You are picking a wonderful surgeon.

Good luck 6 pounds and you'll be there. Let me know how it goes. We all need as much support as we can get this journey is lots of work but oh so worth it.

Where is the best place to buy sugar free products in the southern NH area?  Hannafords only sells a small jar of nosugar added ketchup, and only a few salad dressings without sugar.

I'm going through OTC at Catholic Medical Center and am wondering what Dr. Catania is like. They say that he's done a few VSGs and that's what I want, so I'm just trying to learn more about him. I only have 6 more pounds to lose before I meet him, so I'm getting very curious.

Thanks,
Tracey
