My surgery with Dr. Campbell was scheduled for May 25th, but was cancelled due to her family emergency. I finally heard from her office this past Friday and they wanted to reschedule me for June 8th, but due to work needing more notice, I pushed it back to June 23rd. From what I heard, Dr. Campbell will be doing surgeries on an additional day to make up for missed time, so hopefully those still waiting won't be pushed back too far!

Topic: Tuesday's Plan

I hope you all had a great weekend, I know that we had a blast and even with all the food I feel I made good choices.

Today's Plan

Breakfast - Egg Cheese & bacon on wrap 10 g of protein

Lunch - Special K w/ protein - 13 g of protein

Dinner Grilled chicken with cilantro orange glaze & steamed corn - 21g protein

snack Greek Yogurt w/ SF Grape spread - 18g Protein
snack Pure Protein bar 20g protein
Total Protein = 82g

I need to try and kick up the protein, but I am doing better with fluids now that it is warmer.  I averaged 100 oz over the weekend.

Funny thing the night after surgery I had what was similar to an allergic reaction to the bandaids on my stomach and the nurse wanted me to take benedryl. She paged my surgeon (at 2am no less) and he said to give it to me in applesauce. I thought it was weird since I was still on clear liquids but he said two teaspoons of applesauce (no sugar added) was ok for taking a pill. I had one spoonful with the pill and one to get rid of the nasty pill taste lol.

You might want to call and see if it's ok just to take your pills with. It turned out to be a lifesaver at home when my meds had to be crushed for the first two weeks.

 CONGRATULATIONS!  YAY for You!

Okay, so, here's the scoop:  It was about a month to my appt. with Dr. Campbell, then about 3 weeks to surgery.  Once you meet with her, there are the following appointents:

Pre-Op Nutritional Education at OTC

Pre-Op Surgical Appt. with Dr. Campbell's Physician's Assistant (I had Alison, very nice)

Pre-OP Adissions and Anesthesia Appointment at CMC

AFTER SURGERY:

Post-Op Surgical Check Up (with Physician's Assistant usually)  2 weeks out

Post-Op Nutrition at OTC  (2 weeks out)

Then 1 month, 2 month, 3 month check ups at OTC

Optional Post-Op Support Groups

Call or e-mail me ANYTIME:  [email protected]

Good luck!

Its looking like the week of my hubby's vacation for surgery which is what I was hoping for... if all goes well I will be post op by July 25th!!

YAY! YAY!! YAY!!!

Topic: Waiting, Waiting, Waiting...
So here I am on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, hoping to get the anticipated phone call from the OTC about my meeting with Dr. Campbell.  I did all the work, did as I was told and now the waiting game!  I honestly think the waiting is worse than the whole process from start to finish...  I had some control during the process and even I had the control to push things out a bit because of all the chaos in my life this spring.

Yet now I'm ready and yup.. WAITING...

Debbie C - how long after your meeting with Dr. Snow did you wait before you met with Dr. Campbell?  They told me at the center that it would be about 4 weeks after my meeting with Dr. Campbell to my surgery date... with LOTS of appts in between.  Curious as to what the appts are and what I need to do to prepare?  Yes very OCD and need to have control over everything... can ya tell?

Hope all are well out there in WLS land... congrats to the May post ops.. cannot wait to join you!! Jealous of all of you post ops... living vicariously through your posts now!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY FOLKS!!

YAY FOR WEIGHT LOSS!! CONGRATS!!!  I am sooo happy for you!  20lbs in 3 weeks is amazing... you are doing so well!

I met with Dr. Snow yesterday, waiting for my call about my appt with Dr. Campbell.  Looking like July (although the clinic said she has some family emergency so things are being pushed out!)... hoping for middle of July so I can hit one-derland by the end of summer!

Getting nervous now about the pain, about trying to get in my fluids and meds (and your email about the nasty one SCARES ME!!)...

Keep us posted... I come on now just to check up on you!!!
