Topic: RE: Hiking
Hi Guys - the weather has been awesome let's set a date and a place already it will be fun!!!-
I did a hike around the Mnt. Major area called Lockes Hill located at 2427 Lake Shore Road Gilford, NH - it was an up hill/down hill rough terrain loop hike that was approx. 1.8 miles long. Folks say beginner but for me two and a half weeks post op it was a challenge but do-able - just stopped and rested a bit. Felt great after the hike! I brought my dog with me. Can anyone meet me on June 12at 10:00 at Northwood Meadows? E-mail me if you can come at [email protected]. The parking area is right in front of “Piece Time Puzzle" Shop route 4. Northwood Meadows State Park is a relatively undeveloped tract just off of one of the major roads in the state, managed for walk-in use. Many of the trails are gravel roads or otherwise graded so they can be travelled by the mobility-impaired although narrow-tired wheelchairs are not recommended. There are loop paths around Meadow Lake that require little elevation gain, and a connection to trails up Saddleback Mountain. From US Route 4 around the lake via Lake Trail and West Road Loop with return to parking lot, about 2.6 miles and the elevation gain is about 300 feet. I suggest good supportive hiking boots or shoes. Anyone want to join me? The more the merrier! Xico (Marianne)

Topic: RE: Bowel Movements
I was just in the hospital and had the same problem. Dr. Paciulli recommended Philips Stool Softener. As for the constipation part, 2 capsful of Miralax in the morning and Milk of Magnesium at night. That's what I am on.

Xico:
I live in Northwood and have seen tons of vehicles parked at Meadows for the last couple weekends. I think it is safe for a great hike.

Topic: RNY Reversal
Good Evening...
Has anyone in the NH area had their RNY reversed? I have been so sick for the past 3 years (my original surgery) and we can't figure out what the problem is.
I have lost too much weight (weight is now 98 lbs) even though I eat every three hours. I am always nausiated, sometimes vomiting, and hot flashes after I eat. I have had seven different surgeries connected to the original one and I am slowly losing energy and strength.
I went from being a perky semi-overweight person to a skeletal sickly-looking person. I wear a large or extra-large GIRLS.
Anyone been through this much turmoil or even had theirs reversed?

Topic: I just want a salad!
So, I'm one month post-op yesterday. I'm extremely happy with my progress and weight loss, but MAN, I miss eating things that are crunchy. We're so programmed in our previous dieting lives to eat so much salad that I actually miss salad! I know I'm supposed to retrain my brain to concentrate on massive amounts of protein first, but in this mushy food stage, I miss crunching! I can have crackers and toast now, at least. But it's just not lettuce. Even in low-carb land, you wrapped your meat in a lettuce leaf to avoid bread. I miss fresh, crunchy, delicious produce. I don't want any more yogurt, mashed potatoes or freaking protein shakes. I want to drink what I want to drink, for JOY and taste, not for mandated protein supplementation.
Will I get over this? Tell me there's hope! : )

Topic: Marinade
OK so my son & I were trying to find something new to use on pork. I have a tough time with it but I love it so trying to make it moist we came up with this marinade. It was so yummy that I thought I would share it Let me know what you think
1. 3 tbls grated ginger - fresh I am sure you could use powdered as well
2. 3 large oranges juiced - or the 50/50 OJ would work as well
3. 2 tbls SF honey
4. 1 tsp garlic (again powder will work)
5. 1 tsp Sea Salt
6. 2 tbls Cherry wine vinegar
Mix together and marinate for at least 1 hour.
when grilling you can pour the extra marinade over the pork while on the grill
DO NOT USE THE MARINADE ON THE COOKED MEAT WITH OUT HEATING THE MARINADE!
I get the SF honey at Ocean State Job Lots
My son also made a warm fruit Chutney
1 mango
12 strawberries
1 orange
sherry wine vinegar
simmered with honey, & splenda to taste
then we poured it over SF Vanilla ice cream YUMMY
I love fresh fruit if you can't tell
Hope you enjoy
