Topic: RE: Canobie Lake park
Thanks guys, I am very happy to report back that I went and had 0 issues with any of the rides, even untamed.  I have not been able to ride on any amusement park rides in YEARS so I took the chance and rode EVERY one.  I did the extreme Frisbee twice, that one was my favorite.

So for those of you who may be planning a trip this summer here are a few pointers.  First get a reuseable water bottle and fill it up with water, and freeze it the night before.  The water there is more expensive than soda.  There are no healthy eating options so bring something with you.  That's it, just go, have a good time, and ride untamed.  It's awesome.

We just went last weekend with the kiddos, I am a size 20 pre-op and I didnt have much trouble.  The new rollercoaster makes you feel a bit BIG because of the bar that goes over the head.  However I rode all the rides and had a blast! The Frisbee ride is the BEST!!!  Go have a good time... we even did the Turkish Twist and I didnt fall down the wall like I thought I would because of my weight!!

HAVE FUN!!  Bring water.. standing in the lines being big makes you sweat like no tomorrow!!

Topic: 3 days post op!!
So weird saying it... had surgery on July 19th at 7.30am. Dr. Campbell rearranged my surgery as she had tougher cases to contend with and didnt want me sitting around all day wondering when I would be getting my surgery done.

Surgery day I was extremely out of it... would wake up and fall asleep without warning from all the drugs.  Pain from the surgery wasnt bad, however the gas pains in my shoulders KILLED!  And I was over sensitive to all the stuff they were giving me so they loaded me up on nauseous medicine to help keep my tummy in check.  Lord knows I do not want to throw up AT ALL!!

Day two was a bit better, achey all over, and the water wasnt as fulfilling as I had hoped!

However day 3 and going home was the best! I felt great... had a good nights sleep, walked as much as I could, and go my phase 1 diet started.  Chicken broth and apple juice have never tasted so good!!

Today was my 1st real day home, not thinking I took the baby (she's 1 and weighs 22lbs) from my oldest as she had fallen and bumped her head.  DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT LIFT OR HOLD ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE SITTING DOWN.  The strain from holding her up on my chest was too much even for the 15 seconds before my oldest took her away.  She has been a GREAT help with the babies... feeding them, changing them, picking them up so they can sit with me.

I did go through the "why did I do this to msyelf", "this is the biggest mistake and I want food now" phases.  Thanks to Deb C. and hearing how she is almost back to normal makes me feel GREAT!! To know there is real food in my future and I wont have to live on soup and protein shakes forever is exciting!!

Just got back from vacation and it was amazing! After losing almost 75 pounds, I fit into every single ride at Hershey Park easily and comfortably. No embarrassment, humiliation or depression. I'm beginning to feel normal sized. Walking around was so much easier than last year and being in a swimsuit, well... Not a nightmare.

I've also learned not to bother ordering a meal at a restaurant if I can't take the rest home. It's just not worth it for me. I just eat off of other people's plates. After all the sweating in the heat, walking around the various sites and drinking lots of water, I came home to find that I'd lost 5.2 pounds! I've never lost weight on vacation before. I love my new life!

Topic: RE: 9n months post op and Im in a 4 month STALL!!!
Jessica,
what are you eating?  It is hard to give some help with out knowing what you are doing.  I had a 6-8 week stall and went nuts it is never easy.

Are you getting 100g of protein?
Are you drinking 80 oz of water ? More with this heat.
Are you eating real food or protein shakes and meal replacements?

Hope things get better for you soon.

Jessica,
I wish there was something I could do.  You said you need to see your surgeon, are you having problems?   I am not sure where you are located, but some hospitals can wave fees, or do a sliding scale at some offices based on income.  They don't like it, and you have to ask.  Just let them know what is going on and they will sometimes work with you.

Where are you living now?  Wish there was more info I could give you, but I hope and pray things get better for you soon.

I am in month 9 after surgery and my job changed and now I am no longer insured with health insurance.

Im freaking out. I need to see my surgeon.

Im also considering changing my surgeon for post op care because I moved and I am far away from my surgeon. The commute is horrible.
