Keep going the way you are and hide the scale it will drive you crazy! I weigh in once a week on Fridays and sometimes now I forget and will go 2 weeks. I know how I feel and I know how my clothes fit so that is only thing I worry about. Have a great Wednesday.
Saw the NUT yesterday, she said because it takes me an hour to finish the 8oz of the 72g of protein that my body is doing fine absorbing it! YAY!! Plus with the added protein coming from foods (cottage cheese, scrambled eggs/omelets) and other such things it is probably the main reason I am feeling so good.
Surgeon was impressed with the no pain part, the incisions are all but healed and scabbing is gone. Now to get the healing process to keep moving along so I can start experimenting with new foods. Hubby mistakenly got me a regular coffee the other day, I thought it tasted different but assumed I was growing accustomed to the skim/splenda combo... NOPE!!
Needless to say after an hour of drinking my coffee, NO DUMPING!! So thankfully I am one of those who need not worry about real sugars... PHEW!! Not that I plan on having them alot, however I love my one Dunkins coffee every morning!!
So onward and upward. I have decided to stop weighing daily as I am hovering now... goes down a pound in the morning then up a pound at nigt, then maybe down two pounds next day then of course back up at night!! I know this is normal process, but before it gets into my head and makes me discouraged I will weigh weekly on surgery day!!
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!
As for all that protein in one shake you may want to ask your NUT if your body will absorb all that protein at one time. I just don't want you wasting money if you are not getting the benefits.
Happy for you feeling better.
Found a way to get my protein in... take my Myoplex Lite shakes (20g protein) and 2 scoops of my unflavored protein powder (26g per scoop) and blend it all in. 76g to start the day and it leaves me open to get the food protein that I love. Cottage cheese, milk, yogurt, and whatever else makes me feel like I am consuming real food!! It has been trying to even figure out how to consumer 60g+ a day when most of the protein powders taste like ICK!!
Exercise has been the easiest thing by far... no pain from the surgery at ALL... none, nada... and walking and aerobic stepping has been great! Cannot wait until I can start trying some of the low cal fun recipes with soft foods and fun. That way I can eat with my fam and get them involved with the new tastes!!
HAPPY SATURDAY EVERYONE!
I am kinda new here too though i have been on the "journey" for a year and a half (long story!) anyways i finally lost my pre surgery weight with the help of protein shakes one for breakfast one for lunch and a small dinner loaded with veggies, 4-6 oz of protein and small starch... its so hard i hear ya! i also began exercising when i first began and then when i struggled with the weight loss part i added strength training which seemed to help. good luck and stick to it! You have worked hard to get to this part!
I recently got my surgery date for august 30th! cant wait though i am nervous about the afterlife... I am having the RNY
Doc feels that Monday I over did it trying to get all my fluids and protein in. That I may have angered the pouch, so I should double up on acid meds to calm the beast, stay clear of plain water and try anything else until the pain is gone. So I went for a coffee on the way home from the beach... skim with splenda... amazingly the headache I have had for a week is gone!
The only other issue is feeling like I am having a heart attack from the gas!! I have walked a million miles and while it gurgles and moves, it does not goes go away. I need a trick to learn how to belch like a trucker. If I could get it OUT I would be sooo much happier! Anyone have any tricks??
Weighed myself today... YAHOOO down 11lbs since surgery last Tuesday! Every time I hate this decision for how yucky I feel, I get on the scale and SMILE!! Thanks SOOKIE for the love... I know I sound like the typical newbie but I feel so helpless sometimes!

I am finally back and after 2 years post op, have finally hit the 100 pound mark. It has been a lot slower than I thought but I am feeling so good, it's ok with me. I have not thrown up, but maybe twice. I certainly know what not to eat, and when not to eat. I have been for my fills and love my doc. I really did not have a hard time adjusting to the band. I know that I will need surgery for excess skin, my legs are terrible all ready but of course I want to wait till I am closer to my goal. I want to lose another 50 pounds and I will be good. Slow but sure is the whole deal for me. I know that exercising more would help more, but of course the lame excuse is, I don't have the time. blah blah blah.....anyway. It's nice to be back. Love to chat with any who have had the band and those that are thinking about it. Hugs.
