You will have days like this. Many call them the angry pouch day. If it keeps up, I would talk to your doctor, but it should get better. I have the lap band, but there are days that I can't even look at food, even if I am starving. If you can still do shakes, try that for a meal or two. That way you are ensured of getting protein in, but it is less stressful on your pouch.

Couldn't get a 1/4 of a sandwich down for lunch, then tried to eat some shepherd's pie at dinner with the family, ate maybe 1/2 cup then felt awful. Just a bit ago, I ate about 4 bites of a beautiful piece of Salmon and then couldn't even look at it again.
Sadly, I was really hungry, so I ate about 6 Cheez-itz and a few potato chips. (I know NOT a good idea. But I was feeling desperate and cranky.)
I just feel crappy today and feel like I eat next to nothing and actually want to eat, but after I start, I just can't. Is this normal? Does anyone else do this?
My birthday is coming up and my husband wants to know where I wan to go to eat. It's almost like "why bother?" since I barely eat anything and it's not worth the money. I feel like it's such a waste of money. Yikes.
It has a huge database of food, including restaurants, a workout/fitness log, weight log, graphs and charts and nutritional information.
I use it every day, both pre and post surgery. It helped me count my calories to lose the pre-op weight and now helps to track my protein intake.
I can't recommend it enough and have mentioned it at support group meetings and to all the nutritionists. Good Luck!
Wow, it has been so long since I have posted here. It has been quite a ride for the last year. I left my job of 13 years and started a new job. I was commuting anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour one way, and on probably one of the worse roads in NH. I was let go in March, and found another job much closer to home (15 minutes one way). The hours are longer, and the work more intense which was hard for this 53 year old brain, but I am liking it, and it is getting better every day. The only issue is that I have very little time for myself. But on my third anniversary of my lap band surgery I thought I needed to come back.
I have maintained my weight loss, and have even started losing again, with help from my doctor to get back on track. I miss going to the meetings, but hope to get back to them soon. I know what a critical part they are for my success. I have really struggled the last year, gained some weight, but in working with my doctor, realizing that this is the only thing in my life right now that I can control, and that really helped me with my decision to get back on track. It is so easy for those who are many years post op to go back to the old habits and ways. You really have to work at it every day, and it is not easy.
So I hope to get back here more often than in the last year. Keep reminding me! To all that are starting out....congratulations on your decision. For those who are post op, keep up the good work!!!!

THIS IS NORMAL !!!!
OK, so you are in a stall, and it is driving you nuts, and you think OMG am I done losing? Trust me it will pass. I had a 6 week stall at about 3 months out. Drove me absolutely crazy, but I took a deep breath and know the scale will move. You can check your protein, water and exercise but know at times your body will just decide it needs some time to adjust to the new lower calories and adjustment of food intake.
You will lose more weight if you stick to your plan and follow the rules. Keep up the great work and vent away. Also throw the scale out except for once a week. Hide it in the trunk of your car if you have to.

Welcome to the dreaded 3 week post op stall!! Be thankful you didnt hit it like I did at 2/3 weeks... it SUCKS!! However it is normal! From all the information I have read, a stall right after surgery is normal as our bodies are in shock. You seem to be one of the lucky ones who have skipped the initial BIG one. The first one can last anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks from what I have read!! Mine was at about 2 weeks out, a little before, played around with the same 2lbs then finally hovered at 222 for almost 2 weeks! It finally started moving this morning!! YAY!!
Up the protein again, change up the eating patterns, and do some different cardio workouts to get your body into a new flux. Gonna have to ride out the little bumps as your body is in a comfy stage and likes where it's at. It will change again and you will start seeing the scale move...
You look fantastic!! You should be super proud of yourself!!
Now go have fun!!
