Topic: RE: Portsmouth post op support group???

Hi Laurie,

There is no longer a Parkland support group, so you would need to attend one of the Portsmouth groups. It is open to everyone and below is the info. The sessions are held in the hospital's classrooms. Head into the main entrance, head to the right and follow the hallway down to the back of the building and you will find the classrooms!  The hospital is located at 333 Borthwick Ave. in Portsmouth. Here's a link for directions:

Hope this helps!

Good luck, my friend.  It's amazing how similar we are.  Plateaus , similar weight loss and frustration and the drive to always succeed.  We'll get there.  Sometimes we have to look back and see all the we've accomplished and not what we think we still need to do.  Remember, we're just babies in this process!

Congratulations! That is fabulous!

I can relate so much to your post. I had found that I've been getting into a pretty serious Cheez-it habit lately. Not good. Strange, but potato chips and candy were my vices before, but a handful of Cheez-its at 10pm were becoming a ritual. Time to stop that!

This process is amazing. I now am smaller than I was when I got married 14 years ago and my wedding dress is TOO BIG! Incredible!

Keep up the good work!

Hi Grant,

My surgeon has moved to PA to practice so I am looking for a new support group to attend. Is the Portsmouth or Parkland support groups open to everyone or just for the surgeons in their practices?

If they are open could you give me directions for both and what dates they are held?  thanks for your help...Laurie

Martha,
It is never easy to lay off a food that we enjoy and think is helping us.  Maybe I can get hubby to lay off the PB as well.  I am glad that things are going well for you and you are heading in the right direction.  I can't wait to see you in that dress, you will be so happy.  I know you are up to the challenge and you can do it!!!

You may be only one person in the world, but to someone you are the world
