Hope you both are feeling a bit better today.  The first few weeks  are the hardest and trying to get what you need in is very difficult.  It is exhausting trying to get up and out and do anything because your body is revolting against what you have done to it.  but know this it is so worth all the hassles and this time next year you will be so happy.  Wishing you both the best and hoping this week goes well for you both.

You may be only one person in the world, but to someone you are the world

 Jodjr,

Thanks for reminding of the instant breakfast mix, gonna, have my husband grab some for me tomorrow.....I am so happy right now. I know I will be able to stomach those.

I was suppose to return to work tomorrow, but I stopped by there on Friday and explain that things just weren't going as I had thought that they would and they told me to take as much as I needed as long I as and getting better, I think next week I will be up to going back.

You are right the worst is behind us!! Thanks for the help again!!!

To a tee, I'm also doing OK so far. This morning I was a little dehydrated...dizzy...sweaty. Had some water and felt fine in 10 min. I too am having a time with protein shakes...they didn't bother me before but now they taste yuck.  been going back and forth between them and no sugar added instant breakfast mix with skim milk,  My arms are killing me from lifting myself up from the chairs.

I was planning on going back to work after next week....I dont think it will happen.

Not sure if I am happy or still confused....its been a tough week to be honest. Once I got home from the hospital I had a few days were I wasn't sure I made the right choice, its been hard to take care of myself and my kids at the same time with the holiday and everything but my husband has been doing his best. Yesterday was my first day without pain meds, and no brake down...I am doing so so today....I can't seem to get any protein drinks in they just turn my stomach but I am at least eating and drinking water normally now, well normally for a week out, I wish I could get a little more of everything in but I think for the 1st week I am doing good.

Any suggestion? I see everyone for my 2 week follow up after the new year and I feel like I am going to go a little crazy by that time. My family is being so understanding and great but at the same time I don't have anyone close who knows what I am going through.

Thanks for reading.
Just needed to get it off my chest before it eat away at me.

The problem with recommending protein powders is that what tastes good to me may taste like barf to you. As long as you know that, then I'm a vanilla girl and I finally settled on Isopure zero carb vanilla. It seems to work good as a base for many different add ins and doesn't taste gritty at all. Plus you can get it at GNC which means no shipping charges from buying off the Internet. Other folks may have other suggestions, but I'm just a basic vanilla shake person who uses sugar free syrups, fruit and other things to add interesting textures and favors to my now occasional shakes.

One recommendation that I used was to buy a bunch of samples of protein powder from Vitalady online. Then when I came home from the hospital I had a bunch of samples to try.

As for vitamins, I use Centrum Silver chewables as my multi, B12 sublinguals I get from Walmart, Vitacost chewable calcium citrate from Vitacost (online), Natrol D3 from drugstore.com, Feosol iron from Walmart and chewable C from any drugstore or Walmart. I also take generic Colaese, Magnesium Oxide, and a generic probiotic. I need to set up a list of prices and purchase places so I can be prepared before I run out!

Anyway, that's my routine, I hope you can find some of it useful.
